GrahamKennedy wrote:The Black Hole, because as a kid I was fascinated with these things and now I had a chance to actually see a movie about one! I loved it, every single second of it. Last year I bought the DVD and it's very much more "you can see the strings" than I remembered, but it still has a certain charm. This is a movie that is absolutely begging for a remake, IMO.
I found this film much more enjoyable as an adult - but only because it freaked the crap out of me as a kid. Cheesy robots aside, its pretty dark for a Disney film.
The music is great though, I had the suite on a soundtracks CD, I need to get hold of it again (or dig out the CD).
EDIT: Just reordered the CD, its also got a few good versions of Star Wars and Star Trek films, and a very very good version of Taarna's Theme from Heavy Metal.

The Last Starfighter.
What kid playing a video game ever wishes he could do that in real life, and then gets the 'opportunity'.
(when the main character is asking about the other starfighters)
"How many are left?"
(navigator who was on site during the attack) "Including yourself?"
"Yes"
"One."
"One!" (helmet slams shut so you don't hear what he says next)
Dune - original version
Just freakin awesome, especially watching a worm eat the first harvester.

Me too! One of my nephews horked my old copy - but for Hannukah (yes, that's right) this year I got the new release special edition DVD. I was very excited. In fact, when we took our vaca to DisneyWorld, the only souvenirs I was interested in for myself were the Jack Skellington merchandise.

I liked the first one better (The dragonfly's name was Evinrude! How great is that!) but I liked the sequel, too.
