Dammit, another missed opportunity!
Anyway, welcome Mr. Cheese! I personally don't believe that there are many people who believe that the original E-nil is more graceful, sleeker, etc., than, for example, the E-D. However, a lot of people (myself included) believe that the design makes more sense for the intended use.

Bad example I'd say. There are certainly plenty of ships sleeker or more graceful than the original Connie (non more than the refit though
). The GCS is not among them. The saucer's too large in proportion to the engineering hull, and the nacelles are too small.

In other words, the space going equivilant of Stewie.

The GCS is the space-going equivelant of a freaking beached whale. There is nothing remotely pleasing about its design.

Ironically, the separated ship is more aethetically pleasing than the combined vessel, particularly the saucer.

The saucer's alright, but the rest of the ship just looks even more hideous, IMO.

Sure there is. It explodes on a regular basis, providing (me) much needed laughs and generous fodder for ST debates.

It at least looks better balanced fore-and-aft, as the cobra head is a pretty decent match size-wise for the nacelles.

Aye, quite true. Still, not a fan here.

Heh. "Better than the combined GCS" is pretty much the Trek definition of "damned with faint praise".

We're quite an active forum.
As for quoting, the little thing that display other peoples' posts only goes back a certain number of posts.
