I think I might design a slightly smaller but heavier armed one with two of the main guns, but reduce the hull size to eliminate the fighter support to maybe one or two light scout craft. That would make it more comparable to a light cruiser.

I have the so dubbed "Obsidian" class light cruiser in the works, but unfortunately Paint.NET has a habit of randomly loosing mouse syncing so its somewhat difficult complete drawing it at the current moment in time.

I've decided on the squadron outfit of 1 x 10 unit superiority squadron, 1 x 10 unit fighter/bomber squadron, 1 x 6 unit dedicated bomber squadron, meaning this thing has 26 fighters at maximum capacity. I'm looking at light carriers having 30+ carriers, while escorts having anything below that, above 20 that is. This thing could technically be classified as an escort carrier on those lines, but she's faster and better armed than one, and the designation of a light cruiser has been chosen instead.
