Re: Legacy
I would not be surprised if its the Game. Legacy is so buggy, its amazing.
Re: Legacy
I'm glad to see that i'm not the only one that thought this game was absolute garbage. i bought this game for X-box, and i gotta say i regret it very much. its terrible. The continuity of the game is off, the physics are terrible. its all just garbage. though i do like some aspects, like some of the non-cannon ships in the game. i love ent era battleship, the apallo refit, the proxima class, and the muinutman class. the game play is terrible ( all ships seem to level out to the same relotive plain?) bouncing oiff other ships and planets is frustraiting to no end but conbat takes place at such a close range you almost can't avoid hitting another ship, making the game rather unplayable if you could collide. and the entire galaxy seems to be in the size of a single solarsystem with planets a stones throw from eachother. then there are the ever presant nebulas, i had no idea that that space was so colorful and filled with so much gas . and Shatner voicing his TOS self? come on now... for being one of the youngest captains, he certainly sounds pretty damn old...The game AI is retarted, you tell your ships to do something and they just sit thier or get halfway to where you want them to go, see something shiney and forget what thier doing, then try and engage the largest enemy force they can find so they can be destroyed. the ai also has something against fiting torpedos. the best tactic is to swap between your ship and expend thier torpedoes one at a time on an unshielded target.
But its not all bad, i do still play it sometimes because, hey, it IS a startrek game afterall. it can be entertaining, life the one mission in the tmp erra where we get a message from "Commander Luetenant Garrison" the game is also ALOT less buggy on the x-box thout it will on occasion freeze for no reason
no thumbs up from me

Re: Legacy
i have it for the 360, and have to admit that its pants, the physics is laughable, although i'd have forgiven them had they included a saber class vessel in lieu of some of the non-cannon crap, the romulans don't have the valdore either....

Don't bother. It's the Firewarrior of Trek.

Re: Legacy
Yup, except at least Firewarrior had some coolish cut-scenes to pad out the uber-bland gameplay. Legacy doesn't even have that. That bad huh?
On a sidenote, I was pleasantly surprise by how good the novelisation of Firewarrior was.

Re: Legacy
Legacy does have some plus sides. For the PC version certainly, there is a huge modding community. Some of the big package mods have managed to repair some of the bugs to the game, and made I relatively enjoyable, if you can get over the horrible physics engine.

To the guy asking if he should buy it --- I bought it and never play it. Ever. You'd get much more good gameplay time out of just downloading some mods for Star Trek: Bridge Commander ( a vastly, vastly better Trek space combat game.)

I'd email it to you, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't fit under the size limit.me,myself and I wrote:For that... I need to have Bridge Commander...which I don't.
