I thought the Sphere Builders weren't part of the Temporal Cold War. The Temporal Cold War happened between the 29th and 31st Century. The Sphere Builders were around in the 26th century.

Also in some episodes of Trek, like DS9 they talk about self propagating futures where people are destined to go back and time and do things. Apparently its a real thing for Trek. Kind of like how in Dr. Who some events are fixed some aren't. Maybe the Temporal Cold War result was a fixed event. Perhaps its why we don't get any time travelers from further down the road. It distorted time so much that a shield was established over the timeline from that point onwards which fixed the events that transpired due to the Cold War.

Its more the fact that its so impossible for 6 sapient species to evolve on the same planet. Along with the whole, super alien gods teaching them how to build a planet buster is just stupid.

I actually liked the 6 Sentients from one Planet deal and their history, War then working together then some turning their backs to the rest and such. My problem with the idea was that it was close enough to Earth for them to send Enterprise, the Journey didn't seem to be very long IIRC (besides by the 23rd century it would be even shorter), the Vulcans knew about the area, the Klingons, the Andorians. Yet by the time we get into the 23rd century there is no mention of the Xindi even though they are so close and everyone knows about them. Even with the Expanse gone you would think we would see some evidence that this whole arc and species wasn't just created as a last ditch effort to get ratings and avoid Berman and Braga's Pink Slip...

6 species all evolving in totally different evolutionary trees that reach higher intelligence? The odds of that happening are so amazingly small as to be impossible. Not only that but one species would become dominate and either destroy the rest or enslave them.

Meh I can suspend disbelief that far since the only interesting thing to come out of S1-3 was the Xindi relationship between the species... I can not however ignore that a race of near genocidal people who lived right next door to Earth would be forgotten so quickly...

Well, they were fighting to the point of destroying their own homeworld, even killing one of the six species

Out of curiosity, do any of the people who have placed ENT as their favourite series actualy have any reasoning for this?

DS9>TNG>Movies>VOY>ENT>TOS

Bloody hell. The number of people who put TOS at or near the bottom is disturbing.

TOS Movies>DS9>TNG>TOS>ENT>VOY

For me it is.

TOS: Its the Original, what could possibly top that.
DS9: Its later seasons and its treatment of the Dominion War get it here.
TNG: It brought back Trek, in its later years I could at least watch a full ep through without having to take a break.
VOY: Had its moments but those were few and far between.







ENT: Crap... Screwed up just about everything that hadn't already been screwed up in Voyager so I guess it gets a plus for continuing to carry on the trend...

For me the Movies varry, I tend to like the Movies everyone else hates like STV and Nem...

I dont like TOS because it's just so outdated its silly and immature.

Becuase among it fixed a lot of problems created by other series, like the Klingon Forehead problem, while expanding on the early history and we got to see more of the Vulcan civilization showing that they aren't the perfect logical species that some fans seemed to think they were. And it seemes to have retconned the "laser" thing from "The Cage". Plus the various story arcs were just cool.

That was the appeal of TOS, Trek really started to blow when it took itself to seriously.
