That was a good moment, too. Picard showed that he wasn't above begging someone he hated for help to save his crew.

of course theres always

"There are four lights!"

but thinking about it

my absolute favourite is the final moments of "Darmok" when Picard uses Tamarian speech to tell the first officer what happened below and then offers him the captain's logbook and knife.

I love the following scene from The Ensigns of Command:

Picard: Pursuant to paragraph one-thousand two-hundred and ninety I formally request third party arbitration of our dispute.
Sheliak: Agreed.
Picard: And further, pursuant to subsection D, three, I name the Grizzelas to arbitrate.
Sheliak: Grizzelas?
Picard: Unfortunately they are currently in their hibernation cycle, but they'll awaken in six months, and then we'll get this matter settled. Now, do you want to wait... or give me my three weeks?
Sheliak: Absurd. We carry the membership! We can brook no delay!
Picard: Then I declare the treaty in abeyance!
Sheliak: Wait! Negotiation is -- *blip*
Riker: You enjoyed that.
Picard: You're damn right.

That and the next minute or so. Hilarious.
