Okay can someone explain to me the humor in Life of Brian? It's admittedly been many years since I've seen it, but I found it to be one of the worst movies ever made. And yet I've genuinely enjoyed the rest of the Pythons, and the series. And that really pissed me off, considering how I feel about Christianity. I was really looking forward to some great Christianity bashing.
Don't you hear my call, though you're many years away, don't you hear me calling you?

Give a man a fire, and you keep him warm for a day. SET a man on fire, and you will keep him warm for the rest of his life...

I just remember finding it exceptionally boring and unfunny. As I said, I like the rest of the Python movies, I just remember thinking it was awful. I'm afraid I'll have go watch it again.GrahamKennedy wrote:Dear god, you don't think LoB is funny?!?!?!? You don't like Life of Brian?
Let's see..
1) The world's greatest Latin teacher
2) Pilate telling the guards about his good friend from Rome (made even funnier by the behind-the-scenes knowledge that the extras were told to stand there and not to laugh, but weren't told what Palin was going to do)
3) "What have the Romans ever done for us?"
4) Best. Ending. Ever. *whistles*

I'll have to side with BM on this one. I, too, felt that LoB was lacking overall. There are bits and pieces that I got a chuckle on, but overall, I find Holy Grail infinately more amusing...

"Look! The monster!"
"What? Where?"
"Just there!"
"Where? Behind the rabbit?"
"It IS the rabbit!"
I love that film.

BTW, I had the opportunity to see Spamalot last year - I was expecting to be disappointed, knowing The Quest for the Holy Grail almost verbatim as I do, but I laughed as hard as the first time I saw the film. Combine a Tim Curry-fueled musical, co-written by Idle himself, with the best Python film, and there you have it.
I can't stand nothing dull
I got the high gloss luster
I'll massacre your ass as fast

I will add The Ant Bully to my list of favorite movies of all time.
I've been wanting to see that since it came out last year and finally got a chance to. Now that I have, I must say it was GREAT!!
