Hmm, if I'm taking a leave of absence to take over XO position on a Galaxy class, who's going to take the XO position on the Daystrom? Teaos certainly has rank, but I'm not sure if his position and mindset would be all that appropriate since we're going into a war. I'd recommend Mikey to temporarily take the XO position. He has the necessary experience, and he's a good officer.

By popular demand we wont go with the new super weapon I guess we'll just have Mikey and Thorin try and squeeze every last bit of fire power out of what we do have. Fill all the closets up with spare torpedoes.
One thing I am going to add into my next post in the mission thread tonight, is when I give our crew (you guys) our mission brief is to mention that several entire levels of this starbase have been outfitted with holodecks.
I figure Reliant and Monroe could but them to good use in their train for the mission, Reliant training how to fly in a fleet with all the other helm pilots and Monroe using it to train a ground army.
I would imagin since its the flagship of the Defence group that it would be a modified fighting GCS. But either way I'm sure you'll have lots to do with it. Its your baby for this mission.
Also Monroe will be stationed on the GCS as well since it will be carrying some of his ground army so you will have him to play with on rout to the mission.
Since you have several hundred square meters of holodeck you play with and train your army you and you NPC General who will be your other character can have fun trying to train your army. You do need to decide on the size and make up of it. Sine this is a thrown together fleet your army is esentially all the security crews of all the ships and the local space stations and colonys so it couldnt be TO large.

Again we can all decide things like this.Rochey wrote:Oh, man, I pity the crew of that ship. They have no idea what they're in for with me as XO.
Is it one of the upgraded war-era Galaxy Class ships, or Picard's "sneeze and it blows up" ships?
Will we be working with the Tholian Assembly on this mission? From what I gathered, we're still pretty close to the border, and the pirates have been attacking them, too.

You can create the General if you like. He just needs a name really nothing else. The rest can just be nameless character unless you want to name them. What position in the army id up to you. I imagin the General would notice your skill and give you command of a division of troops. Againa up to you.Monroe wrote:We'll really have to keep an organized character list. I can see Munro butting heads with the 'General' of the Federation Army. So that general would be a new character and he'd need several aids. Rochey would need to create a bridge crew for the Galaxy, though it might get boring for him if he's RPing by himself the whole time :p

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Yeah the position of XO would go to either Mikey or Thorin in this situation. Since Mikey is higher ranked and Thorin will be busy most of the time during combat Mikey would be the best person to fill it.
My guy couldnt handle a jail break, no way he's being put in charge of a warship in combat

Oh, man, that crew is in for a week of pure hell with the two of us around. Also Monroe will be stationed on the GCS as well since it will be carrying some of his ground army so you will have him to play with on rout to the mission.

Just posted.
I tried to give everyone an idea on what they can do while still giving them the freedom to do other stuff so as not to cripple anyones own ideas.

Working on a post (I'll upload it tomorrow after work) to get the ball rolling on osme of the things we've discussed here. Quick question - am I being breveted to Commander, or just to the position and not the rank? I'm not asking for anything, I'd just like to know.
Oooh, and I already have some ideas rolling around in the noggin already on how to integrate the Daystrom and Rochey's ship (the Dakota, is it?) in our battle plan.

Yeah Rocheys is the Dakota.
Well I suppose you could take a promotion if you like but when Rochey comes back onto the Daystrom for the next mission he'll be XO again so then there will be three Commanders on ship.
It doesnt really matter either way. Maybe a field promotion for the duration of the mission then decide if you keep it.

It could very well be called different things in different areas... I used it to refer to a temporary promotion, usually for this very purpose - to make rank commensurate with a position that needs to be filled.Teaos wrote:Didnt know it was called a brevet... learn something everyday.
