A bit unnecessary since Braga left Trek after Enterprise ended, and Berman left after his proposal for Trek XI was rejected.
 There is a god!
I didn't actually hear about that, who's in charge now?

ok i must admit that i havent read allof what has been said...but here are my ideas.

Firstly, no more prequels. there fun, i liked enterprise, but really, the writers are too good (bad?) at just bringing forward tech advances to make things easy.

two,no future series.

to take the series much beyond the 2380's at this point i think wouldnt really work, thats more a gut feeling than anything else.

What i would like to see is more flesh on the TNG/DS9/VOy period. by that i mean i want Romulans damnit!

There is SO much we dont know about that period.

We dont know about the politics of teh Federation. How does the federation Council work, how do federation members relate to each other, eg, why is there a vulcan ambassador on earth in the Undiscovered Country.

We know something about the Klingons, but very little about the Romulans. i want to see more romulans damnit! (can you guess which race i like?)

Whats happening with the cardassians? and the remans for that matter (romulans damnit!)

And you have the Tholians and the Gorn and the tzenkethi etc.

Fillit out, take it away from one ship,DS9 helped this but was still too ship based.

Stay in the universe. But froma different angle.

So yeah, ROMULANS!

Good thoughts, and I agree with you as a true green-blooded patriot! :D

I think that Sarek was in ST VI because he was the mediator of the peace negotiations between the Federation and the Klingons. But that's a minor thought. I agree that seeing the political side would be neat! (have you read "Articles of the Federation?"

I too would like to see the politicians picking up the pieces after Nemesis on various planets. (Fixing the Rihannsu government, negotiations between them and the Federation from both sides, Cardassian rebuilding, etc.)

I agree that a series set after the Dominion war would be good. I would like to see the consequences such an evet would have had.

i would move everything to the fringes of society, give Starfleet a break, and make the captain an alien, thank-you-very-much.
in fact, i would make the captain a gender-neutral alien of a racial minority, and give it a physical malformity, as well as making it whatever the gender-neutral equivalent of gay is.

i would adress the topic of religion by having at least one crew member who is religious. half the crew would think he (she, it, smizmar) was an idiot, the other half would be intrigued. possibly, just to mess with the status quo, this would be a Jewish Bajoran.

i would rename every species so that (for example) instead of the Andorians coming from Andor, the Lucasi would come from Andor. similarly, only three planets would remain that have names ending in "-ia".

Starfleet uniforms expanded to:
gold: command
red: security
orange: engineering
blue: science
green: communications
white: medical
pink: psychological (subdivision of medical)
black: intelligence/competent security

no sound in space.

at least three regular CGI characters.

the entire series could consist of commentary on these changes, but it would still be better than most of Enterprise.

also, to DBS: woot on "Articles"!

There isn't really anyone in charge of overseeing Trek the way Berman was.

Does anyone know how the ownership shakeup within Paramount will affect the show? What network is in charge of what? And can the groups cooperate enough to even have a single franchise anymore? Sorry, I have no idea what went on there.

All I know is that Paramount deals with movies while CBS takes care of TV shows. Since the only Trek production in the works is a movie, it'll be Paramount. If there's ever a new series, it'll be produced by CBS. In fact, the Trek DVDs that were released in 2006 (TAS box set, various Fan Collective collections) all have the CBS logo on them. In fact, I think the remastered TOS episodes have the CBS logo at the end of the credits.

Well personally, I would shoot anyone in the face who proposed something set post 2379. Every fan ship or idea I've ever seen from 2380s etc. has been godawful. NEEDS MOAR PHAZURS LOL

I would however like something on the Tholians. They are quite frankly a genius imaginative creation that is an untapped resource. Enterprise began to go into the Tholians a bit (and did it very well) but was cancelled just when it was getting good :(

I think they might be a bit better with the ship design than some fans.
(Although given Akiraprise that may be a bit optimistic.)

The tholians would be good to see in a few episodes again. I thought that was one of the few things Enterprise did well.

An idea I had a long time ago... basically, an uber-ship buit by the major Galactic powers; Klingons, Dominion, Romulans... maybe even the Borg. Designed to go out and explore other galaxies.

It would be set perhaps a century or so down the line from TNG. The idea is to be somewhat babylon 5-ish; not "everybody works together in peace and harmony", but "everybody tries to stop hating each other long enough to get something done, and doesn't always succeed."

Funny, that. Probably everyone wanted to easily win at STBC or something. There aren't many fan-designed surveyors, science vessels, or explorers*, that's for sure.

*by explorer, I mean one that ISN'T "Enhanced Deterrence", "Heavy", or some other euphemism for a battleship with a token science officer.

That's a rather good concept. I don't think you could get the borg to help out though. :)

The idea was that the major powers had basically spread out through our galaxy and fought one another to a standstill. They finally just decided that they needed new territory to expand into, and none of them had the right stuff to go find it alone.

The Borg were a bit problematic in that respect, I admit!

I rather liked the idea of utilising everyone's specialties; Humans as leaders, a Jem'Hadar security force, a Vorta ambassador, etc.

Perhaps you could have the borg as a long running antagonist? Maybe they found out about the project and are attempting to hunt it down and destroy it in case it gives any of the other powers an advantage?

It would probably end up with a lot of backstabing, if the ship found some advanced alien tech I can imagine all hell breaking lose as every one attempts to claim it for their own race.
