Man, almost 100 here. I know Texas and the like it's hotter. Just hot for me, you know?
No TARDIS required, Saturday's schedule was pushed back due to Friday's rain - 9:40, 11:40, and 2:40. Today's game was a hard-fought elimination, but we ended up going down to the #1 seed (from a higher division, no less.) But, for their first-ever tournament, the girls played hard (and my own went 1 for 2 and started a 4-3 put-out in the elimination game.) Plus, I am officially an assistant coach now that I have my neck-and-arm tan.

Am I the only one who occasionally looks around the forum and wonders what happened? It might just be me but it almost seems like participation (both numbers of posts and number of people posting) has dropped quite a bit in the past year or so -- with some members disappearing entirely, i.e. the moderator formerly known as Rochey/the other SG, or what about Kendall? Anyone here from him lately?

Are we all exceptionally busy in our lives now?

It should pick up a bit once the next Trek film is out, but it's definitely quieter.

I know Uzume and I have been. She's going to pop on here tomorrow, though. Hopefully.

Sounds cool, Teaos. :)

I got a certificate of recognition for my hard work. Made me feel nice. And a raise, too. Made me feel nicer. :D

Congrats, Striker! A raise is always a good thing.
My niece and her boyfriend bought a nice boat a couple months ago. Last Friday, she invited us to go with her to lake Oroville to go boating and swimming, and she towed us on a 2-person tube. She pulled me at @ 35 mph. and tried to sling me off. After about 10 minutes, she succeeded, and I skimmed the water like a skipping stone. My neck still hurts, but it's a lot better than it was. I got a little "lobsterfied", as well, but it was so much fun. The temp was 104 F, and the water temp was a perfect-for-swimming 78 F. We're going again next Friday, and I'll remember to reapply my sunscreen.

Moving in less than two weeks back to NJ. Found a really nice place for $950 a month in East Windsor near Mercer Community College. The place from what I found out is normally $1,250 a month but since the owner isn't going through any agency he can put it that low. The apartment inside has been gutted out and redone. New walls, new paint, new carpet, new tiling, new kitchen etc. The only thing bad was the nearly $2,000 I had to fork over for a security deposit which i will get back.

I have been boxing two or three boxes a day for a month. I am at the point where about 80% of everything is packed and I can start patching up the walls (from picture hanging, shelves etc) and do deep clean of the old apartment. I don't want to get hit with stupid fees. I know the carpet will be replaced and bathroom and kitchen will be heavily redone when I leave, but still i'd rather spend the few hours of cleaning than spend money on stupid shit.

On a side note, since I am moving back, my 62 year old Dad is going to get me more heavily involved with his business. He sells musical instruments, specifically anything guitar related and violins if he can find decent ones. It is a one man operation which my Dad reached the max. potential.

Sounds like a great opportunity, McAvoy. You get to spend time with your dad, and help develop a business that is both profoundly useful, and unlikely to decline. :)

Hmm, cool, McAvoy. Rock on. ;)

Going out for a day with my mother Thursday. We don't see each other too often with my new schedule.

This is how my Dad works, he hardly ever buys anything new. It's all 'vintage' or in other words, used. However, he goes to flea markets almost everyday and he literally finds two or three guitars a day. Some of them he just strips the parts off of and sells them, and others he may make a decent profit. About once or twice a year he will find a instrument, usually a violin that someone is selling for $100 or so, and my Dad realizes it's worth a $1,000. Several years ago, he picked up a $20 violin and it ended up selling for $6,000.

My point is that I do not have the encyclopedic knowledge like he does. Violins for example all look alike to me. I can tell the difference between one guitar and the other, but not enough to tell what year, factory, backhistory, and price.

Anyway, he is getting me involved because he has literally thousands of guitars and violins sitting at his house, and Mom doesn't like it. Somehow for every two guitars he sells, he buys three and somehow pays bills. So i think he just trying to reduce the number before they move when my Mom retires. That and being paid $15 an hour plus (good, craft beer) beer works for me.

Finally getting my first time off work since last July... Got one week off in Bournemouth, then back to work but I am gonna be house-sitting, so I won't be back home for two weeks... Done a massive clean out of my room today (I use it as a small bedsit), and after spending since 9 o'clock this morning clearing it out, my brother is convinced that I am moving out... Sadly not, but hopefully soon.

And I've also been asked to start my holiday a day late, as apparently most of the rest of the staff are unable to do my job, despite me actually being a GDB (General Dog's Body), and therefore should be doing nothing that other general staff can't... Ah well, only two days of work to go :)

Went to Hammond Castle with my mother yesterday. Took a bit and got turned around a few times on the way there, but was loads of fun. :D
