Indeed, you recall correctly. He is. Do they make Scottish Cider?
Yep. Only, they call it "Scotch whisky."

The Tenth Doctor, on the other hand, was southern. Seven was a Scot through.

As pointed out, we've had a Scottish Doctor, so he's better described as British. If you take the term to refer to the British Isles, then this includes the Irish.
Wait... what? "southern" what, exactly? If you're referring to the characters as distinct from the actors, then NONE of them were English, Scottish, Irish, or anything of the sort. They're Gallifreyan.

In the name of a ruse, perhaps... that might be more compelling support for your point if the Doctor hadn't, in the first three minutes of the clip, twice highlighted the disparity between him and humanity. Other than that, I got nothin' - my mind was far too busy reeling at the sight of Eric Roberts in a DW movie. I can't watch him in anything without seeing a poncy, perm-haired man-boy with a bloody bandage over his hand screaming about his thumb.

(If you don't know the reference, you've missed a great, great movie.)

I always figured he was out of his gourd, then. Not like the Doc is usually... stable, even during the best of times. ;) And especially during regeneration.

IDK, he seemed to be on a pretty even keel... at least, by Doctor standards. Seafort put it up as a bit of a joke because it incorporated the Doctor saying that he was British; he obviously said it as part of an attempt to blather his way past the cop.

Yeah, I get you there, Mikey. I dunno. I think sometimes if we opened up his skull we'd get a literal cuckoo clock with a broken bird.

Who knows? That might be a typical part of Gallifreyan anatomy.

*EDIT* Really, though? Nobody else was weirded out by seeing Eric Roberts in that?

Is it ok to drink Irish Cider while watching?
... Yes? Odd quesation, Foxx.

The English and the Irish people generally have nothing against each other. Sure, there are a few notable exceptions to the rule but they're not very common.

Also, The Doctor is not English, he's Gallifreyan. :)

Much as Seafort would beg to differ. :P

Well, the Fourth could keep it in that mop of hair of his. :D

Well anyway, I really liked the "Patrick Troughton, Lost in Time" DVD's. I would have liked them more if the stories were complete. I need to find some more episodes with Patrick Troughton as the Doctor.

I recommend the Invasion, the War Games and the Mind Robber. And even though it's from the Third Doctor's era, the Three Doctors. Pertwee and Troughton play off each other wonderfully!
