Mikey, there is nothing AND THE ROCK MEANS NOTHING! that is gonna make me miss my trip. Snow? I'll get a dogsled. Hurricane? Surf's up! Zombie apocalypse? Let's see them handle someone who's not stupid! ;)

So, no. Not enough to mess up my trip. ;)

I got a new app for my phone. It's a ballistic calculator. You input the bullet caliber, weight, and speed at muzzle, type of scope/reticle, weather conditions, elevation and range your scope and rifle were zeroed in, wind speed and direction, current weather conditions and elevation, range and angle to target, and it will do all tje calculations for you, and even show you via the reticle you chose where to put the crosshairs for the bullseye. I'm now hitting golf balls at 300 yards at the range with my Tikka T3 Lite in .308 and Burris Fullfield 3x9x40 scope. For those interested, go to your app store/Android Market and look up "strelok".

Is that some variation of the Chay-Tac software?

I don't know, but it works and it's free on the Android market.

On a side note, Three Olives birthday-cake vodka is a hell of a way to celebrate each score in the big game.

I went through 17 Yuenglings during the game.

Very, very much like Super Bowl 42. Excellent game.

Mikey, can you still deny Eli?

I cannot deny Coughlin anymore. Yes, I am one of those.

I'd be a hypocrite if I said I now thought Eli was a great quarterback, rather than being decent enough to not stand in the way of the other talent. Here's my litmus test: if you took Aikman out of the Landry Cowgirls teams, or Montana away from Rice and Clark, or Johnny U. away from the late '50's Colts, those teams would NOT have accomplished what they did. You can replace Eli on this Giants team with any number of current QB's, and they'd have done just as well if not better.

Eli will get his accolades for winning two rings, and starting a Super Bowl off 6 for 6... but he'll never (IMHO) be the type of QB who can pick up a team and win the big one when the rest of the team isn't quite doing it.

So, I was watching Mikey and Seafort going at it in the Falklands thread (I have not yet caught myself up on this evenings developments) and I started thinking:

Would there be any interest in bringing back the old DITL debates? I believe it was Teaos who first proposed and ran them. I might be willing to moderate some debates should their be interest. Anyone?

I have been accepted for Master's program in the UK! I will have to choose between these three schools who accepted me:

- Newcastle University (Master of Art - International Politics (Critical Geopolitics))
- Aberyswyth University (Master of Art - International Relations)
- University of Bristol (Master of Sciences - International Relations)

Since the course that interests me the most happens to be the one given at Newcastle University, I am inclined to pick it over the other two. But I think it wise to hear first advices from UK-savy people who might know more about the conditions in either of these locations.

Who, Tom Brady? Tony "Choke" Romo? Joe "Mensa" Flacco? Matt "Overrated" Ryan? Dead Dog Vick? This team was so shitty, that Eli needed to score 15 TD's in the 4th quarter of 2011. They were so awful that Eli needed to lead 8 game winning drives in the 4th quarter. The o-line was so awful Eli was pressured 233 times on dropbacks. The o-line was so awful the running game was the 31st ranked running game in the NFL. There's also the defense which gave-up more points than the offense could score. This was not a great team at all. It was mostly Eli, the WR's, and the pass rush. Brady, Peyton Manning, and Aaron Rodgers are the surefire guys I think could do what Eli did this year if they were on the Giants, and probably better too.

Thinking about it, the only guy who has elevated shit into respect in the NFL is Peyton Manning. There's no doubt that his presence elevated the Colts to the playoffs. Look how dreadful they were without him. Just that one man's season ending injury turned the Colts from perennial Super Bowl contenders to NFL bottom dwellers. Peyton is the real MVP of the NFL.

Except of course when he put the team on his back in Super Bowls 42 and 46, in the 4th quarter no less, and led game winning drives. In the age of parity in the NFL, it all about who plays the best on any given Sunday. And in his Super Bowl victories, Eli has outplayed the best in the biz.
