Ah, the retail life.

At the small shop where I work, the proprietor and I (as the technician/assistant) have come to an agreement that there's no music when we're both in, since I don't like what he'll play and vice versa! It's not ideal but it keeps either of us from becoming annoyed by the background music.

Shit, I'd rather listen to Fran Drescher sing Elvis covers than work in silence.

Alas, no music at all at my store.

Pumpkin Stouts are mighty tasty. I got three six packs of different breweries in my fridge of Pumpkin Stout, a sixer of pumpkin ale and two sixers of Oktoberfest.

Like I said, I don't mind Christmas music. I have a few CDs here I can listen to, and do... in DECEMBER. Not the first friggin' week of November.

My manager is like that. She put a christmas CD on in late september.

A fair part of the decision to play holiday music is bottom-line oriented rather than preference. Retail analysis has shown that holiday music being played before the traditional shopping season can increase impulse buying.

I know and acknowledge that, but it doesn't mean I have to like it.
