Yech. I am petrified of needles. So much so that watching someone put a piercing in makes me squeal in fear and repulsion.

Nice thing you're not diabetic. Mikey and I prick our fingers intentionally several times a day, Mikey must inject insulin at each meal and since my doctor got me on the pump I wear a thin plastic tube under the skin all the time (which I change every few days with -- an injection)

I hate needles. I just don't like seeing a needle being stabbed in me. This is a new thing. As a kid I didnt care. But seven years ago I had a really bad infection in my thumb that was spreading through my hand was starting to attack my nerves. Waited one more day and I would have lost the thumb. Anyway, I was stuck in the ward with two IVs in me. One for morphine and the other for antibiotics. Both of them kept on popping out. In the end, I had a track lines all over both arms. One time the corpsman missed my vien seven times!

Yeah, even before I was diabetic needles never really bothered me. It's not a tough guy or machismo thing, they just didn't strike a nerve like they do with some folks. In fact, my first piercing was done in a dorm room - I put away a glass of vodka, took a piercing stud, and jammed it through my ear lobe.
