No joke. October 11th will be a whole year since my mom died. Still feels like it just happened.

Got a rather pleasant surprise when my friend Kathy called me up. Rather nice conversation there.

Two hours till the monthly doctors visit. Who in the fuck would have EVER thought I'd be looking forward to having a three inch needle injected into my back muscles eight times??? (trigger point shots)
Well, at least he doesn't say, "This won't hurt a bit."

well, maybe if he does, the sheer absurdity of the statement would distract you from the pain?

Either that....or the genius line "You'll feel a little pinch."
No, you futher mucker! I feel a long ass piece of sharpened metal slicing through layers of flesh, before finally that PRESSURE of some sort of fluid being injected, shortly before everything goes numb.
Wow...I'm not looking forward to it as much anymore.

What if a sexy nurse dressed as Seven came to assimilate you with back needles and said "resistance is futile."
Actually, sounds like even that wouldn't do it. Ouch. Now my physical ouchies seem a bit better.

Yech. I am petrified of needles. So much so that watching someone put a piercing in makes me squeal in fear and repulsion.
I hate injections.

Nice thing you're not diabetic. Mikey and I prick our fingers intentionally several times a day, Mikey must inject insulin at each meal and since my doctor got me on the pump I wear a thin plastic tube under the skin all the time (which I change every few days with -- an injection)

Since its gonna happen anyway....that WOULD make it suck alot less.
Doc really hurt me this time. I complained afterwards, and he says "Oh, I was trying a new technique."

I don't get it. How different can stabbing someone with needle be?
I hate needles. I just don't like seeing a needle being stabbed in me. This is a new thing. As a kid I didnt care. But seven years ago I had a really bad infection in my thumb that was spreading through my hand was starting to attack my nerves. Waited one more day and I would have lost the thumb. Anyway, I was stuck in the ward with two IVs in me. One for morphine and the other for antibiotics. Both of them kept on popping out. In the end, I had a track lines all over both arms. One time the corpsman missed my vien seven times!

Do you have tiny a/o soft veins, or just shit corpsmen?
Yeah, even before I was diabetic needles never really bothered me. It's not a tough guy or machismo thing, they just didn't strike a nerve like they do with some folks. In fact, my first piercing was done in a dorm room - I put away a glass of vodka, took a piercing stud, and jammed it through my ear lobe.
