I find it scary to think starfleet would still put people in flying coffins like the NX-refit. I mean, the thing is almost 200 years old by that time.

Hey, Old Ironsides could still do her duties, not as well as the modern navy mind you. But Trek seems to have much slower technological advancement rate then we have in 200 years.
Newer, more effieciant warp nacelles and warp core, shields, upraded weapons, I think it could be on par with a modern ship. Remove some of the bulky outdated equipment, more automation, I think you might have a cheap patrol boat. Or target practice *shrugs*
Oh, and the bio listed Blackstar as a Caitian, when shi's actually a Chakat. And the regestry numbers seem a bit off, but when have those made sense.

Yeah, that works for me.
Also, that reminded me that we're going to need to get back to our original mission.

Oh yeah, we do have one of those, don't we?
Well, what's next? Tracing back the info we got planetside, or running to report it? Perhaps that's an alternate issue to bring up in the staff meeting?

Presumably, the Captain would want to report the information we got back to Starfleet HQ, and go from there.
So.....what did we learn from them?

I would suggest that we might transmit a message to a border patrol ship or perhaps meet up with one to transfer personel over. Or perhaps someone with contacts in...useful places might get a secret message out

It's not supposed to secret - those findings are the primary mission of the ship. I don't think we ever set down what we found, but Minnsky helped us retrieve the database with the provenance of the slaves which turned out to be the missing personnel.

A message works, but I can't see the ship turning around and going back the way it came just 'cause we picked up some unwanted passengers.

Actually I am waiting for some Tholian authorities running out of pationce because it takes so bloody long before we complete the mission with which we came into their territory.

So then...a simple transmittion would be the most probable option. Then what...Ah wait...perhaps with the Talora incident someone on board might want to check that the Sydney or whatever the other ship is called (since we had a fairly notable debate about it) is alright.

I agree - there are other ships on picket/border duty, as well as the string of bases per our original intro; maybe just a brief rendezvous to drop off the refugees and sensitive info? Or not. As long as we're doing something.

So if we met a courier ship, Like a New Orleans or something to drop off the refugees and such. And yes...i wonder when the Tholians will be paying a visit
