Sounds like a good gig, Teaos. As long as they don't go on three-hour tours, three-hour tours... ;)

We're off on other cruise in about a months time, this time from Southampton to New York via Norway, Iceland, Greenland and Canada. That ship holds 3080 guests (Crown Princess).
They call it country club casual, no formal nights but smart casual at all times.

Nice place top work with a nice cliental, last cruise I had dinner with a retired genweral who commanded in vietnam and a few cruises ago we had a former sentor on. Really interesting guests.
Interesting... They typically do one formal night a week or perhaps three on a two week cruise on the ships we go on. Quite fun to get the chance to dress up. We're going on a cruise on a small ship next year. By small I mean really small. It has a total capacity of 48 guests. We're going to see the Galapagos Islands, this is the ship National Geographic Islander.

Good, the quicker the year goes, the sooner we can put this 2012 nonsense to rest.

I would love to work on National Geographic ships but they dont really have a retail department. Unless I got into the tech side of things there no job for me there, but they do amazing cruises.

Yeah my previous ship did one or two formal nights a cruise but this is a nice change, Oceania is layed back cruising with 7 star cuisine.

Round here, the ratings only go up to 5 stars. Are you using the Spinal Tap scale?

Not sure what cruise star raiting you guys use but here it ismostly done on guest to crew ratio, and partialy on guest ratings.

basically this is a 650 guest capacity ship is 350 crew. about 1.4 guests to every crew. but of those 350 crew, 200 are galley. which means 1 galley worker for every 3 guest.

Considering the standard princess of royal carabial crew to guest ration is at least 5 to 1 and Galley to guest is 10 to 1 you see where we get our star ratings from.
