Should write a travel book about your adventures.
I'll edit it for free.

Well, we're back. While it was stupid hot all weekend, the party was a good ol'-fashioned country BBQ - quoits, horseshoes, redneck golf, and lots of pulled pork and Yuengling on tap. Too much Yuengling on tap. The kids had a great time at Hershey Park, too.

I would have, if it wasn't so damned hot that I sweated out most of the brew. But, when you're drinking 30 miles from Pottstown, the Yuengling will flow.McAvoy wrote:So I take it you went and pickled your liver?

Typical British summer here (i.e one or two weeks of heat wave and then sort of overcast/rain for the rest of it)

At least this year we're having a few cycles rather than a glorious late May-early June and then cold and wet for the rest of it like last year.thelordharry wrote:Typical British summer here (i.e one or two weeks of heat wave and then sort of overcast/rain for the rest of it)

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Given our position on the globe and the laws of physics, it's impossible but it would be so nice to have guaranteed good weather for at least a quarter (year) like they do in the Med. A friend of mine just came back from Portugal where for two weeks, there apparently 'wasn't a cloud in the sky'. We're going to Cornwall for two weeks in mid-August and I have every confidence it'll either piss down or be all murky and overcast for the fortnight...

We had a bit of a heat wave last week, but it's broken and even raining at the moment.

Is there a difference between rednick golf and normal golf?
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Yep. "Redneck golf" doesn't really involve golf. It gets its name from the use of bolas made from a pair of golf balls connected by a foot-long cord. Two ladder-like structures comprising three rungs, about 3-1/2 feet tall, are set up facing each other about 15 - 20 feet apart and two teams of two take positions with one team member at each ladder. The players at one end take turns tossing three bolas each at the opposite ladder, scoring based on which rung they land their bolas on: three points for the top, two for the center, one for the bottom, with the total score for the round being the difference of the two teams' scoring throws (If I throw for 6 points and my opponent throws for four, the total is two for my team.) Then the players at the other end throw, etc., with the game running until one team reaches 15 or 21 points.Teaos wrote:Is there a difference between rednick golf and normal golf?

Oceania, smallish company with just 3 little 650 guest capacity ships and one larger (but still small) 1200 guest ship, 5 star cruising, light on entertainment but really excellent food.
They call it country club casual, no formal nights but smart casual at all times.
Nice place top work with a nice cliental, last cruise I had dinner with a retired genweral who commanded in vietnam and a few cruises ago we had a former sentor on. Really interesting guests.
