Ugh, that sucks. Having spent last summer feeling like shit because of high blood sugar (as the meds stopped working and eventually insulin therapy fixed me in a hurry) I can relate. Get better - that's an order... um, sir! :P

OT, but why are dogs "sick" and horses "healthy?" There are no intrinsic qualities about either animal to back up either label.

:D

I'm on the mend. Came back to work today, mostly because my boss begged last night.

It's the middle of exam season. So far, I think I've done very well in all the ones I've taken. However, I have two triple science resits to do (Chemistry and Physics). I am awful at science...especially chemistry. :roll: :|

Well, that didn't go great. I was put through for foundation level this resit (maximum you can get is a C for that paper) just so I can try and solidify my current pass to make absolutely sure I do get the C i'm meant to in Chem3. I can do a lot of the experimental stuff and some of the equations, but this paper dealt almost entirely with what different acids do, and what colours certain solutions go; stuff that I did years ago and have since gone past and forgotten.

Graham, you might know this one (I believe you are a science teacher...if not, please excuse me :P). I am under the impression that the exam board take into account your highest mark for that paper, yeah? Does that still stand if I did Higher tier first time round and Foundation tier second time round?

The first part is certanily true, and I beleive it still applies regardless of which tier it is the second time around.

I couldn't say, offhand. I would think so.

Thanks anyway. I'll bother the head of department tomorrow about it.

I wish I could say that made any sense to me.

:lol:

Either:
a) he's doing placement exams/assignments, and wants to know if he can use either the better of his prior or current marks - like if you take the SAT more than once, you can use the best score you get,or;
b) he' having roast duck for dinner.

The former with a twist. I know I can use former results, but I technically did a different paper (Foundation tier is easier, max C grade; Higher Tier is harder, goes up to A*). I want to make sure that since I did higher first time and foundation second time, it doesn't invalidate my earlier result which I imagine will be better.

Ah. I wrote a lot of my college papers while I was higher, too.

Well, I'm now 3/4 of the way through my current batch of AS-level exams, and now I have a much needed week of "breathing room" until my final one.

I have, however, come down with a cold.
