Different first word.
Note, i didn't say ''ps could you two, explain to me, the differences between the WORDS quantum, photon and transphasic torpedos please?''
:sword: :D lol

Thanks Seafort,

so the respective yields, ranges etc, have never been quantified on trek?

Well, not that I could ever recall. They left alot of that blank.

My interpretation is something like

PT: 60 megaton
QT: 150 megaton
TT: ~10-100 gigatons

So basically in my opinion they just get more powerful through various means, although all based around matter/anti-matter reactions, maybe just the ability to pack in more matter/anti-matter while also still possessing the ability to have full control and a nice size for the torpedos (otherwise torpedos could theoretically have infinte matter/anti-matter reactions). So more anti matter means that something else is disadvantaged, but this problem is slow overcome as they put more explosives in.

Where do you get the first two numbers from?
They most certainly do not go with what we see on the show.

The tech manual, and they most certainly do go with what we see on the show.

Tech manual is not canon.

And by all means, show me evidence of a 150 megatonne explosion anywhere in Trek.

How do you expect me to do this?

So...?
Er, so you can't use it to claim things we have never seen.
How do you expect me to do this?
I don't. Becuase there is no evidence for you to use.

Well, I won't then, but it's not because there is no evidence for me to use.

Then why not?

Because you just said that you didn't expect me to.
It's like a teacher saying to you "I don't expect you to finish your homework". Why would I then proceed to do it?
And I still claimed nothing at any point.

I don't expect you to be able to find such evidence, becuase there is no evidence.
It's like a teacher saying to you "I don't expect you to finish your homework". Why would I then proceed to do it?
No, its more like a teacher going 'I don't expect you to be able to do this, but try and see how you do'.
You do it to prove your point.
And I still claimed nothing at any point.
What?
You claimed, as everyone can see, that photon torpedoes were 60MT and that quantum torpedoes were 150MT. You then claimed you got these figures from the tech manual.

Define:Claim - an assertion that something is true or factual
I have done no such thing. I made an interpretation that was made clear it was my opinion and no others. Whether or not I later prove this to be true (thus making a claim) does not change whether or not I originally claimed something. I did not.

Okay, firstly.
Where is that picture from?
What were they shooting with?
What were they shooting at?

Very well.
But my point that your interpretation of the yields is contradicted by much of canon still stands.
