Re: Ideas for new classes of starships
Two engineering hulls? Are they completely redundant, or do they act in concert?

Re: Ideas for new classes of starships
And that's what I mean by "needlessly complicated". Could you not just have one secondary hull, with a magnetic clamp of some kind to hold cargo crates along it?

Re: Ideas for new classes of starships
okay let me try one more time.
The ship doesn't have a saucer and drive section like traditonal ships. The Saucer and the two struts leading off the Saucer compise the main parts of the ship. The struts aren't self sustaining, but they don't seperate from the saucer either. Outside the two struts, are the nacells. Between the struts is what i've called the Cargo Hull. It's mostly cargo space and is basicly what gives the ship the majority of the cargo space it needs to be a fraightor. Now the Cargo hull can be seperated from the ship, and in it's place if it's necessary. The ship would be able to haul spacestatons, and move them at warp speeds, rather than havig them move at 1/4 or 1/2 impulse to get wherever they're going.
And yes it is a little complex, but i liked the design.
P.S. If you all think this one's confusing, i can't wait to put up my next one.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Okay, I see what you're saying now. I still think it needlessly complex, though. The ship doesn't have a saucer and drive section like traditonal ships. I'm impressed with your skill at imagining AND drawing these from multiple angles.
