Geordies visor on the other hand was a dangerous piece of tech.

It got him brainwashed and turned into an assasin, sent Worf flying through multiple Universes, and ultimately got the Enterprise D destroyed.

And it was totally unrealistic. Everyone knows that in the future everyone will be wearing spandex.
