Well, it was just a major case of
Pancreatitis.
I'm finally home. 5 days in the hospital sucks.
I'll be around but not much for a while.

Hey bro, welcome back. I take it you weren't a fan of the hospital food or gowns?

Best of luck for recovery. And welcome back.
Your "welcome home" booze and strippers are waiting when you're fit and well.

Ouch. That sounds nasty, and the wiki article reads like it's even worse. We need a wincing emoticon.
Good to hear you're back home, and therefore presumably better (in the relative sense of the word).

Better is better, and out of the hospital is far and away better than in (considering the fact that Pres left the hospital without having to go into the basement.)
So, are you on a Mikey/CPH diet for a while?

Do you have any impairment of c-peptide response or pancreatic function?

And in other news...
My daughter's watching a teen-targeted show on Nickolodeon called "Big Time Rush," about a teen vocal group. Well, in a scene in a recording studio, the session guitarist is none other than Lita friggin' Ford!
Yeah, she's ancient now... and yeah, I still would.

Booze is out for good, I'm afraid. I'll take the strippers, though.

Supposedly, the acute version I had is second only to childbirth on the pain scale. Needless to say, I got morphine aplenty.
I used logic to talk my way out early, and I seem to be taking better care of myself in a number of ways (minus the morphine). Go figure.

I'm on some kind of high-carb, low fat/protein diet.

Double strippers it is then.
As all have said, any form of recovery is a good one. Even more so away from hospitals.
I hate hospitals.

Sounds like the pancreatitis was due to stones or calcification/some sort of deposits, or that the docs saw a good chance of such in the near future. At least the pancreas is still producing, though. Bad news - booze is hard to give up. Good news - it's much easier to live without than you might guess.
