It hasnt gotten past 6 all this week. We had hail and snow for 3 days and it is usually down to -3 over night.

That sucks, but try constant rain for about three days straight.
On the plus side, it's fairly okay this morning.

Sorry, Reliant, but it certainly sounds like you made the decision that you had to.

The heat here has come down a bit, but it's been very muggy. Climbing into cars which have been shut up and sitting in the sun for weeks has become a fairly moist business. As I often say, "It's not the heat, it's the stupidity- er, humidity."

0200 hospital visits are not much fun, even if you and the little guy are the only ones there.

The doctor was awesome, there's something about an old bearded guy that puts you at ease. He was relly good with my son too.

Hope everything's OK. And yes, it is a big deal when you find a doctor who has a good manner with children.

He had a fever for three days hovering between 100-102 and woke up at 0100 with a bad headache, so I brought him in. Looks like a virus and they gave him some special meds, told me to keep doing what I was doing (hydrate and childrens tylonal) and this morning he's fine. Was probably a complete waste of time but when the cough showed up I was concerned about Strep.

It's bloody hard to find one that is good with children, if yours ever go in for surgery don't let them talk to the surgen. Those guys have horrible bedside manner.

I think this guy reminded him of Santa Claus.

We've been told that a fever that stays under 103, even if lasts up to a week, is nothing to see a doctor about. I have never once abided by that advice.

Radiology techs are more people to stay away from. When my daughter was very young, she had to have a chest X-ray. The tech looked at the film and said, "The radiologist really has to diagnose this, but there's a huge spot on her lung... oh, wait, was there a metal snap on her pajamas?"

Anyway, glad to hear that he's better.

They need to be. Its easier for them to do their work if they are slicing open a slab of beef and not a 4 year old girl. Its better if they dont know anything about you.

I go if he's really uncomfortable, basically. It doesn't cost anything to give him some piece of mind coutesy of the health care system. Besides, there's always something in the back of my mind (you know the whisper of doom).

 Way to go fucknuts.

Yeah I know. Explain that to a scared child, hell I've had at least seven surgeries and I still get annoyed with them.

Where are you that you 1)haven't gotten above freezing all week, and 2)think that 6 degrees is cold

Oh...right. They get their snow in the summer months. I once had a teacher from there but she told me it rarely went below freezing if at all. But all week? wow.
