As soon as I finish my report or figure out what you said and consult with ah I can't believe I almost said Tsu.

I have a bruise bigger then my hand on my backside (does this bruise make my butt look big?) and I broke every single one of my fingernails. Well, the gel actually but fingernails sounds more dramatic.

My duties are being culled again at work. It would seem that I've over stepped my bounds in the eyes of two of our teachers. They have taken offense to my being able to control their classrooms when they can't. As of now I am being set apart from most of the students in an effort to remove this "problem".

So now rather then me just getting kids to calm down I'll get to sit in a classroom where the teachers can't control the kids and thus those of special needs can't get an ounce of aid.

Dude, f*ck em. When things snowball out of control, they'll have themselves to blame. Of course, as you said, that means the kids get screwed.

Not your fault.

I don't care about the teachers, if we're lucky one of them will have another meltdown and I'll get a classroom to myself again.

Careful what you wish for. My wife has now taken over a class for a teacher on maternity leave - even though she's not a substitute - because the kids are so under-performing that her principal asked her to do it as a personal favor; she's the only reading intervention teacher who has been able to show consistent progress among the kids she's had.

Now, she's taken over a classroom in which the kids are reading at a lower DRA then their cumulative folders showed for them at the end of last year; a classroom in which there is no word wall of any sort, even though the original teacher is supposedly a former literacy coach; a classroom in which the science manuals aren't even present; a classroom in which the scheduled curriculum was completely ignored in order for the teacher to discuss her pregnancy and impending motherhood with her class (3rd graders!) and one in which the books aren't even leveled.

I had a class to myself the last two years and I loved it. They left us alone and let us do our work. If they did that again at this new school I would be very very happy.

I wonder what is worse? A class of third graders, a class of troubled teenagers, or a class of grown men in drug and alcohol rehab.

I almost lost it on my guys. I had one idiot try and hijack the class, and started telling everyone what they should be doing, and how to do it. I asked him what qualified him to try and take over my class. He said it was because he hadn't gotten high in 10 years. So, I asked him what the hell he was doing in my class.

He's a falling down drunk who hit a little girl in a crosswalk while he was DUI. His third offense. He's in the program to try and knock down his jail time.

But he stopped using drugs ten years ago, and since I only have five and a half years, he thinks I have something to learn from him.

I really fucking hate people some days.

Later, when I am (supposedly) grown up I want to be a misanthropist. (Don't know if that's proper english, though.)

Why wait? Practice makes perfect, you know.

That's the issue my wife is having. She never had problems like this when she started the year with her own classroom, or when she was a literacy coach and developed her own programs. If a number of kids in a classroom decrease in DRA as the year goes on, the problem isn't with the kids.

Looks to be a pretty decent contract.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.
