These sadly don't get much store exposure in Canadian and US stores. We're more likely to have chinese shit than proper northern european boots.

Which is why I think, when in US or Canada, go for NAmerican. I'd be happy to give norvegian or Russian products a try if I had the chance.

Yeah, the only European boots I've seen were $300 a pair, which is way outside my price range.

You can get some hardy Sorel boots for less than 150$ apiece, and have them delivered in the US.

Let's just say that your protectionism doesn't make it easy for our quality product to pierce US market.

We got the same slush, and are getting the snow overnight - fortunately, by the shore we were downgraded from a prediction of 6 - 8" to 2 - 4".

O usually wear my steel toed military boots. Well the retired ones that I keep. The ones with cuts and nicks in them that I can't buff out anymore. The only bad thing about them is if you get water in them they dye your socks and feet black. Also get a chance of jungle rot.

I live in Virginia Beach and our once in a decade freak snow storm happened after Christmas. Got 12" and then it hit 55 degrees a day or two later.

My sister broke the lock to our front door earlier this afternoon, locking us out until a few minutes ago (about 8:30 pm local time). We're getting it replaced with a new one now after the 24-hour locksmith got us inside; the cost of the repair is insignificant next to the time spent in the very uncomfortable outdoors. It's right around the freezing point with exactly one metric shit-ton of snow on the ground. I was only waiting forty-five minutes and did have my father's car to bunker in while we waited, but my sister was waiting several hours (I was at work at the time). She'll be alright it seems. Also, due to the late arrival, dinner will be a late one, past 9 pm.

Another good call. Jungle boots don't hold up well to the cold, but jump boots work wonders and feel like you're wearing sneakers. I know guys who used to do their runs in their jump boots instead of sneakers.
