Best hopes for a speedy recovery. Bugs been around a lot at the moment, I've had trouble with big time stomach issues lately. But that sounds pretty shit.
Good luck, man.
Good luck, man.

WBA can kiss my white ass. Bernard Hopkins was set up to lose by a home-cooking ring size, got called for a knockdown on a rabbit punch, and then went on to actually win the fight against a man almost 19 years his junior... then, the bout was called a technical draw. F*** you, judges.

Wow....we've got thunderstorms, heavy rain, and flash flooding here today. Gotta love paradise.

We've had snow quite a bit, but its now coming in rain. It appears to be freezing. It's had quite an impact so far, Dad was completely unable to get into work this morning. His office is up a fairly steep hill and the Focus just wouldn't have any of it on the ice. Otherwise, its been fairly safe around here. Further west and its the definition of chaos theory.

Thanks. I'm back on the side of the living today, finally off the meds and able to eat real food. Stamina's gone to hell though, freaking stairs...Reliant121 wrote:Best hopes for a speedy recovery. Good to hear, Lighthawk.
Holiday season is almost over. Had family Christmas Sunday. It was... odd, and maybe not in a good way. i simply could not connect with any of my relatives.

I was browsing the interwebs yesterday (primarily through TED.com) and found a new talk from Ken Robinson (the person who originally claimed Schools Kill Creativity), this one about Changing educational paradigms and accompanied by some pretty good animation. I know we have some people either involved in education or who know people involved in education -- and I'm sure we all have opinions on education. I strongly recommend watching these videos. I also found something from the RSA regarding 21st Century Enlightenment. I do enjoy these talks.

Well that teacher who told me not to interact with students other then those assigned "Directly" to me. (Though to be fair I did answer a few questions from other kids) Yeah, turns out restricting the person in the room sent to help you to a corner wasn't the best of ideas. The kids quickly caught on about what she told me by my actions or lack there of in the room and began to act up accordingly. I swear, several times she gave me this "Help me" look... to which I followed her orders to the letter and duly ignored.
It may be wrong but it felt pretty damn good to see that it took the presence of TWO admins to get the kids back under control. Even better when one of the admins had to stay and help.

Wasn't DADT just a policy, the Pres. as CinC could have just said "change it." and that would be it. I don't remember it being a regulation, of course I was somewhat clueless to such things as a youngster. Although in the San Diego Brig the guy who beat another sailor to death with a dogging wrench for making a pass at him generally was not messed with. We got along fine though, I didn't bother him and he didn't bother me.

I have a hard time believing any soldier who kills another for any reason other then war wouldn't pay some sort of price. More then likely its just not talked about. A life time of CRDs can be a bit of a personal hell on earth.

In best male tradition, I've just started (and finished, only got 4 people to buy for) Christmas shopping, with 4 days to go.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
I've also discovered I can't wrap gifts very well, although I did manage to stop myself halfway through wrapping the second to put the label on the first, so crisis averted there.
