But, yeah. 77 degrees F on December 15th is pretty nice. When it gets up around 100 F during the summer, with 95% humidity, then it's not so great.

That is true. But I'd rather have the heat. I can barely leave the house during the winter time if it gets low low, I'd far rather have the heat so I can at least leave the damn house.

No, they only get involved if anyone is injured. Besides, how would they know what happened, they weren't there.

In the States, SOP is to call the fuzz regarding any accident even remotely serious enough to warrant totaling a car.

Anyway, hard to tell by a pic; but if there's no frame damage, in the U.S. that would be nowhere near enough to get an insurer to total ("write off") a car.

Yes, a 5 door 1.0L (the base model).

We looked at one of them for one I start driving, but the insurance companies are hiking young driver prices again and I dont think Im gonna be able to afford a car altogether. I'll manage year 1, but I wont be able to save enough for the second year.

The guy who hit us had only passed his test 2 days before. Which is why the insurance is so high on new drivers. I'm not saying that you would be the same...

My father was <--> close to buying a really really old 1.9SDi skoda. The point being that even if I had wanted to reverse, you could have aged to the point of incontinence long before I would have reversed anywhere near you. Besides, with dad half teaching me I will be a very careful driver.

I'm looking to try and learn at 19 depending where I go to university.

Insurance companies are putting up the prices for everyone, not just new drivers. I'm dreading what mine will be next year, this is my first year of car ownership. Its apparently mostly due to people making 'no win no fee' claims after accidents, mosly unwarranted ones. Unfortunately the insurance companies usually just pay out rather then question spurious claims.

Course at the same time people are being priced out of cars, the train companies are pricing people out of train travel. And people not being able to move around can't be that good for the economy.

I'm going to be surviving on buses mostly. My local area is only served by buses and some light train services, but I should be able to get a really discounted all times yearly bus pass. At least till I'm 19-20 so I can get a car. Although, if my mother replaces her car yet again (to reduce insurance and fuel costs) i MIGHT be able to share with her.
