Yeah, that's like my goal in life, to make other people better, or at least feel better if I can't actually make them feel better. And knowing me I'm sure it'll stick, it's pretty much the goal of mine in life to make other people feel better.thelordharry wrote:I hope you never lose that spirit as you grow up, Nick. So I'm going to encourage people to smile more, because smiling makes people feel better, and hopefully it'll make someone elses day better, which may make someone elses day better and so on and so forth. If only people actually cared about making people feel better, in general they don't.

Fucking ice!
It hasn't been too bad for the last week or so, despite the layer of snow and ice everywhere. But today the entire city seemed to have turned into an ice-skating rink. My initial attempts to get down to the end of my road resulted in me sliding all over the damn place.
Damnit, Earth, where's my global warming?

Oh dear. That was us a week or so ago -- freak snow squall, only an inch or 2 but the next morning the entire campus was an ice rink. Thankfully it melted by the end of the day.Sionnach Glic wrote:f***ing ice!

Also, is there a way we can keep that smiley?

PM Ian and ask him to add it to the roster of smilies.
At least now the ice seems to be starting to thaw. There's definitely a hell of a lot less than there was at the start of the week.

We had some problems when dad had to go back to work and the Focus decided it had a mind of its own when we took it out the cul-de-sac. The back end swung right out and almost smacked into the back of over-the-road's Volvo.

Ouch. Still something of your stereotypical fall on ice though.Sionnach Glic wrote:For those wondering how slippy it is at the moment.

Well, I'm waiting for a laptop I'm working on to finish restoring. I hate it when Hard Drive's die, it is the WORST problem to solve, especially in a laptop. I mean at least with a burned out motherboard you can just tell them to go and buy a new one since there's nothing you can do about it. This I can work on, and I'm getting good money for it, but it's just really difficult to pull everything needed together, especially when your working with something like a Toshiba where they have all of their stuff stuck onto an OEM disc rather than a regular OS install disc. I'll be waiting on this for a good long time I'm sure... Thankfully I like doing this kind of work.

We've missed the worst of the bad weather in the North West, though there was a couple of accidents on a stretch of road I use regularly, and girl at work came off the road, nothing too serious. I'm near a main road but at the bottom of a cul-de-sac, so I could do without ice settling in. Car is handling the weather nicely though.

It's a chilly 74 degrees F here.
It may get down into the... mid-50's tonight!

Even when you're temperature is "down" your weather is dramatic.

Alas....very true. I hope it clears up. I had planned on making you all a short Christmas video down on Waikiki, featuring alot of bathing suit clad beach goers
