It demonstrates its importance to world affairs, to an extent that no other sport can claim, and therefore its superiority over those other sports.
Well, all the "best doctor" polls save one turned out for Baker, and the one that didn't turned out for Tennant.
I.e. the current one and the longest-serving one. Not surprising.
Who's your fave?
Troughton, closely followed by McCoy.

Sylvester McCoy is probably my favourite.

The first part of that statement has no causal relationship with the second part.

Baker's the longest-serving, surely; but Tennant isn't the current one, unless something odd happened in the bits that haven't gotten to the States yet.

He was the incumbent at the time the poll was carried out.

Ah, I thought the poll was into the reign of 12.
I must say I'm a bit surprised. I like Troughton too, but I would have pegged you for a #3 fan.
(BTW, I saw a photo with Sean Pertwee's entry in the cast list for the upcoming Warhammer 40k movie - he could be his father's broader-shouldered twin.)

And, you can crash at my house for free.
I'll keep that in mind. I'll expect you to provide the women as well

It can be cheesy... and some of the best TV ever. I could hook you up with season one of the reboot for Christmas.
Also... I like hockey, mostly because my dad played pick-up every Saturday night until he hurt his knee.

Hockey was the only sport I could do when I did active sports and not theory. I loved it.

What postion did you play, Reliant?

Not in a team, good sir. PE lessons involved a term of a certain sport, one being hockey. I took on my teacher and one several occasions. Unfortunately, my class was the lowest in the year group because of raynauds, I was considered a bit PE Special.

Nitpick: A reboot is starting again from scratch. The recent series of DW are merely a resumption. Why else do you think I labelled the 2010 series as number 31?

Whether
John Matt Smith is 11 or 12 could probably make a thread of its own in the DW forum, given the Stolen Earth/Journey's End thing.

Yeah, I don't get into that sort of pseudo-epistemological argument. To me, if there's been eleven and there's one after who looks, sounds, acts, and does everything else differently = he's number twelve.

In that case Smith's number eleven. The argument is over whether Tennant, during Journey's End and the 2009 specials, was still playing the Doctor's tenth incarnation, or whether the little RTD-approved fireworks display at the cliffhanger of The Stolen Earth counted as a regeneration.

My criterion above still holds in reverse.
