Supposedly, Masada is still "inhabited" by the spirits of the Jewish rebels who dies there...

Anyway, sounds like great times. Good to see you're still alive, Teaos. ;)

Give you the feeling of walking on water dude?

And Ian, why don't they just call them buses?

Because this is a typical English bus:

and this a coach:

In other terms buses are for getting around town you get on and buy a ticket there and then, there are many many stops. A lot of the time they are two floors. Coaches are for going further a field, or on charter trips such as Teaos did. They're typically single story with more comfy seats.

Yeah, to be fair, the Routemaster buses (the style of bus in Ian's pic) are all but extinct now anyway but the ones you see most frequently in London look like this:

or this:

Oh aren't they pretty and lovely and red!

Mark - we use the term "coach" as well, but less often now for buses and more for integrated RV's, as in "motor coach."

Wait... get on a bus then climb stairs? Fuck that. If I wanted exercise I'd walk where I was going.

See Ian and TLH get much posher buses than I. There are only two double deckers in my entire region.

This is far more typical.

For what it's worth Kieran, I get the same sort of bus round my way too, just more than two of them :) I'm pretty sure red double decker buses and the bendy buses are just a London thing though (London being 'inside the M25')

I'm Glad (:

I always seem to get the oldest ones as well. I haven't been on one that isn't older than I am.

I've been on what you call a bus, they have stairs just to get on in the first place. Our buses have one step and your on. The ground floor is much lower than that.

Yes, there are single deckers. A lot of small cities have single deckers. However, compared with a coach they're still different. Coaches have a large storage area below the seating area. Buses have no such area and are generally lower with only a single step to get on.

Day off tomorrow so I'm going back to visit some of my students from last year. Sad to hear two of them won't be there due to parole violations. Oh well, life is shit and they stepped in it.

On the plus side I'm expecting to see between nine and twelve of them which will be fun.

Had a fairly good, if too busy day at work.
