Re: A new random thread
I have a ski mask. One day while wearing it pushing shopping carts in really cold weather some lady accused me of robbing the store.

Yeah. In retrospect it's funny. When it happened I was mad as all hell.

Why are there so many scams and crap on social networking sights?? Its bloody annoying. No one wants to meet people in person any more, but using sites like Facebook, Twitter, Netlog, Bebo are just full of scams and pointless s***!!

I agree, but people seem averse to actually meeting real people and socialising. A huge part of why me and my ex split up a few months back, she'd sit on them all day and it did my head in.Captain Seafort wrote:Social networking, ergo spam?

Re: A new random thread
I keep track of friends and family through Facebook, but that's about it. I don't really play any games on it anymore.
Re: A new random thread
I never played games on it. I use Facebook as a way to keep track of friends. I am not the one who posts several times a day about what I ate for breakfast, what I did or will do, etc. I have many friends who do that. Hell my cousin's wife does that. With her four kids, she makes it out like she is Mother Earth. She plays games, and posts random stuff all day long. The funny thing is that she is legally blind and very deaf. Yet she can see just enough to do all that. She and her husband lives off of her welfare checks, then moans about how they do not have enough money. Always asking for handouts.

4th and 5, why wouldn't you punt? Maybe because you're down 15 points? Still doesn't make sense.

Ravens vs Colts. Colts were are 4th and 5 and instead of punting tried a pass play which didn't work.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:Which game?Angharrad wrote:4th and 5, why wouldn't you punt? Maybe because you're down 15 points? Still doesn't make sense.

Re: A new random thread
I really want to go whole hog with ebooks. I loved my Kindle and now I love my Nexus. I never thought I'd like ebooks until I tried them and now I'm sold. The thing that's stopping me, pricing.
Simply put an ebook is nothing but a file on a server somewhere. They don't have to send it to a printing press, make physical copies of the book, ship them somewhere, and hope someone sees it and buys it. It's just a file. So stop trying to charge me full book price for a fucking computer file. I'm not stupid. When a hardcopy of a book is $7.99 with free shipping and the Kindle edition is $7.59 I'm not buying that the physical copy of that book only costs 40 cents to distribute. I know you're making almost pure profit off that $7.59 compared to the margin on the physical book. I'm not opposed to the publisher and author and the distributor getting their cuts. However I'm not going to value a computer file the same way I would a physical book so don't charge me equally for them.
I didn't even blink when I saw that the TNG Techmanual Kindle edition was selling for 2/3rds of the a hardcopy. Seems perfectly reasonable to me. That's about my own personal price point. Digital copy for 2/3rds hard copy. I'll pay that without pause. Want to charge me full price for the digital copy? Go fuck yourself.
