Hmm, you were nice enough to give us seven minutes of ownership free, so you've got my support.

Yeah, I did miss that thread. Sorry - I was getting rady for work, and just checking the topics I had e-mailed notifications for.

Heh, what was that quote again?

British General observing the handing over of military barracks: "You're seven minutes late."
Michael Collins: "Yes, but you're seven hundred years late. I think you can wait a bit longer."

The latest thing happening in my life is that I made a bag of microwave popcorn. It is delicious.

The version I've heard is that it was at the handover of Dublin Castle, and the wording was:

"You're seven minutes late, Mr Collins."
"We've been waiting seven hundred years; you can have your seven minutes."

Either way I've always thought it was a well-phrased (if not exactly subtle) dig.

Yes, I think that was the quote, I just screwed it up.

In other news, disaster strikes as I discover the bottom two thirds of my popcorn have been horribly burnt, leaving me without popcorn and with a horrible taste in my mouth. :(

Um...okay?

News....Huh...very little. I'm a little concerned for my friend who's dog just died. She's been acting very weird all day...oh well.
Other than that...Nothin to report...

My sympathies for your friend. Did she have the dog for long?

Right from both births. What worries me is that she wasn't in school today...she has NEVER missed school....

That can be a tougher blow than you think. From experience, I can say that people can often transfer unexpressed emotion from unrelated things to traumatic experience with a pet.

My condolences to you as well, Rochey. You really have to stand by the microwave and listen for the pops to slow down.

Well, the instructions on the back just said to put it in on full power for three minutes.

This is one of the happiest days of my life. I know that sounds a bit cliche, but it's true. And I'm not biased or anything but damn! we make some good-looking babies! If it's okay with everyone I'd like to post some photos soon of the newest addition(not the gross ones). Oh, and I won the Caption Competition, too, after 36 honorable mentions. Man, does this day get any better?
