I have an SKS, an M44 carbine and full size mosin nagant so my dirty russian collection is well underway.Jim wrote: I see you have another AK fan in your midst... it is probably a WASR-10, but nice none the less...
I want to get a 74 and a venezuelan 103, but i doubt it will happen, it was hard enough getting the two AKs i alredy have.
I plan on getting a Dragunov (it will probably be a Romainian one also, so technically not a dragunov) next month. And i want to get or make an RPK..
and i want a PKM too... sigh.
EDIT: YAY!! i got promoted!! *dances*
I like guns that look cool. I really do not care if they are quality or not. Things like Mac-10 clones and so forth. I do not have any of those but I would like to get something like that.

Pretty sure there are background checks on those sorts of weapons. I had to do a ten-finger FBI check when I bought my... um, weapon. I'm unsure about rifles, though.
There is only one way of avoiding the war – that is the overthrow of this society. However, as we are too weak for this task, the war is inevitable. -L. Trotsky, 1939
Yeah, but you can kill someone with a brick and you can easily buy them as well. You can drive your car through a crowd, etc etc etc...Thorin wrote:So all those guns work with proper bullets that can kill someone?
You can actually just go and buy a AK-47 or a high powered sniper rifle at shop and just leave?
That's increadible
But sorry... I had NO intention on this becoming anything like a gun-law discussion (I personally think they should be more strict) so I am not going to bring any of it up again.

A brick or car isn't designed purely to kill others.Jim wrote:Yeah, but you can kill someone with a brick and you can easily buy them as well. You can drive your car through a crowd, etc etc etc...Thorin wrote:So all those guns work with proper bullets that can kill someone?

Many firearms aren't designed purely to kill other people either. I'm not a hunting afficionado, but many people are, and most of them use firearms. In addition, I know many people who enjoy shooting at skeet, at ranges, etc.
Besides, Jim lives in Pittsburgh - I wouldn't blame him if he carried a LAW to go to the bus stop!

That's all true - they can be used for hunting. But they're still designed to kill people.Mikey wrote:Many firearms aren't designed purely to kill other people either. in any case you can buy assault rifles here in the USA; but they're semi automatic.
However with the expiration of the assault weapons ban.. i think you can buy them with a special permit in full auto..but after you buy one, the FBI owns your soul.
yea, it is still a federal offense to own an automatic firearm, a rifle less than 16" in length, a shot gun less than 18" in length, a silencer, tracers, or any explosive or armor piercing ammunition.
HOWEVER, if you have tons and tons of money, and are retired military or law enforcement, and have what the government considers to be a good reason you can get whats called your class 3 license. It costs $200 dollars per application per item per year, which may or may not be accepted. So, say you wanted a silencer for your pistol. Its $200 dollars on top of the already bloated price for such items at around $1500. then another $200 per year just so your gun goes tew tew instead of bang bang. so it's not impossible, but they do make it hard... the odds of the application going trough are 1:1000000.
In restrictive states like here (cali) new york etc. you have to have your class 2 liscence to even own a semiautomatic rifle with a removable magazine. Most people are limited to bolt actio rifles, or semi automatic rifles with non-removable clips/magazines of less than 10 rounds, like the SKS or Garand.
