It was a working theory until proven otherwise. Again, keyword being theory. I wanted to know why they used two beams from an array. Problem solved, though you do have a lot of touble moving on don't you?

Borg ships can deflect KE attacks. It is logical to assume that eventually the borg would adapt the technology for their drones if they deemed it necessary.

Except we have never seen Borg with KE shields, even when it would have been very advantageous. Ergo, Drones do not have the ability to project KE shields. Case closed.

Except we've seen they can't adapt to KE on dozens of occasions. Even when all other weapons were rendered useless, simple KE was effective against them for long after. Hell, in FC Picard ordered his crew to fight with their fists when their guns stopped working. Given he was a Borg, that may indicate he knew they couldn't adapt to that. And later instances proved him right.

Okay, we didnt' see they couldn't adapt, we only say that they didn't adapt. For whatever reason they may have chosen not to adapt.

And those later instances were all one off things with different weapons.
