Sure, but I think you'll find that the answers you get are less informative.

What if the question is "Are you still alive?"

No answer means "no" and any other answer means I shoot again. Seems to work well enough don't you think?

How so? If you're dead then my job is done, if you're not dead then I just repeat the process until you are. Seems to be perfectly useful to me.
