I thought the whole point of online registration was to reduce the log jam you'd get by making people register in person. Sort of ass backwards that.

Yeah, it kind of is, isn't it? Especially as all the registration windows weren't even staffed. They couldn't have made the process more of a clusterfuck waiting to happen.

I'll keep that in mind.

Well, my wife and I are looking for a travel trailer and a vehicle to pull it with. Either we'll sell the minivan and get a Dodge Durango, or we'll sell my '93 Dodge Dakota V8 and get a pickup with an extended cab so the whole family can fit in it. I'm partial to Dodges myself, followed by Ford. I really don't like Chevy pickups all that much.

I don't see why a V8 couldn't haul a decent travel trailer, depending on where you're planning to visit.

Well, it can haul a trailer with ease, but it doesn't have an extended cab that the whole family can fit in. That would be the reason I'd sell it. Otherwise, I wouldn't sell it at all. I love my truck.

I can hardly comment on US cars, but ford would instantly get the "solid donkey" recommendation over here purely because they just keep going and going and going.

Well, I broke down today and took off my own cast. I've had enough. After all, it was supposed to come off in six more days anyway.

(For those who don't know, a month ago I got backed into by a car on my moped and fractured my left wrist. Ironically, this mirrored my broken right wrist from last year following a similar accident)

I need to get a damed car before I get killed.

How big of a trailer, what kind of fuel, and what kind of hitch? I know the technicalities of Chevys and GMC's better than those of Fords or Dodges, but The GVWR's, GCWR's, and GAWR's are close enough between them.

If you're getting a diesel, I recommend you rethinking your aversion to GM. The Duramax 6.6 is the best light-duty diesel engine on the market and it comes paired with Allison 1000 trans. Dodge's Cummins is good but noisy, but they used to have trans issues. Don't buy a Ford diesel unless you have an aversion to both highway power and keeping some of your money.

Not so big that it requires a 1 ton chassis, but big enough to hold a family of 5 without feeling like a sardine. Probably a standard hitch, unless we get a great deal on a gooseneck. And I'm probably looking at gas engines, and I'm on a budget, so I'm looking at used vehicles up to maybe 10 grand, if we wait for our income tax returns for next year. Otherwise, it'll be up to around 6 grand. I know, I know, I'm broke.
