How'd you manage that?

Hey Mark, If you need any help with that I can give you some contact info so I can help with any "surgery" on your computer.

I've gotten really good at it even long distance.

Best to get home ASAP, Mark. Particularly if it's as bad as it sounds. :?

Well, the beer is in the bottles and primed for carbonation. It's hard to taste-test an uncarbonated sample; but the color in the glass is like a dunkel or bock, it has a full body and malty character with the hops (I used an American pale lager hop for this effect) taking a more subtle tone like a Vienna maerzenbier. The coffee flavor is strong but not overwhelming.

F*ckin A. We made a "pumpernickel" beer on Sunday. It is hard to taste-test it right after you make it; it tasted like some kind of wheat soda.

Yeah, fermentation is a big plus when making beer. I'm thinking of calling mine "rotes Auge Bock" ("red eye bock.")

Does "pumpernickel" mean a combo of wheat and barley malts?

Nice. I've been meaning to try to make a colonial-style ale, like an IPA or a brown ale with coriander instead of hops... but any time I'm in a position to buy a large amount of coriander (which happens as rarely as it sounds) I have no concept in my head of brewing.

My Dad might be getting a new job! Instead of managing a load of social workers dealing with child protection (believe me, its shit.)He'll be managing foster carers. It's still not great, but it's better the foster carer than the front line social workers. Plus he gets a company car!

It WAS that bad. Had me down for a day and a half. Ironically enough I had a dr's appt for my back yesterday when I was on the mend. I need to have spinal injections :worried:

What, like epidurals?

To numb things up yes. First they want to shoot steroids into my spine. Then something else to relax the muscles, THEN a chemical agent to burn and kill the nerves so I can't feel the pain anymore.

I'm not crazy about this idea and think I want a second opinion.

Yeah, epidurals are a dangerous business. I'm trying to figure out some treament options for my own back. What's your problem, herniated disc?
