"Do not be discouraged," Skive said, holding out his hand for the servo-skull to download it's findings. "Recall, we were dealing with a witch, what you percieved might not have been reality." He approached the body, and turned it over with his foot. The illuminator skull lit up, and the light revealed clearly the man from within the bookstore.
"It is him! The little man I see running away! He was dark mag'ic! You is right about him." Buck patted Skive on the back. "You's smart for not being com'sar. I like you."

Skive half folded from the friendly blow, his knees giving out a electric whine of straining motors. He straightened with a metallic popping.

"Always good to be liked." He let the skull go, taking a second to chew over the data. "This is troubling Buck. What sort of place have we found ourselves in that such an establishment could be allowed to exist?"

Buck frowned. "It is a dead place. No souls here. So we kill them all."

Mir

Mir kick went wide as the other Solaria faded away like smoke, leaving him floundering for balance. The daemoness grabbed Mir's outstreched leg and yanked, hauling him bodily into the air and hurling him across the room.

Skive gazed up at Buck, a hand raised as if to accent words he hadn't yet spoken. He let it drop, and his head tilted, face unreadable behind and beneath his mask and hood.

"You know what Buck, you might just be right."

Buck smiled, he smiled because he was right, the little man said so. "Yes, we kill all the souls less ones."

Mir
1918

Mir twisted in mid-air to slam back flat against the wall. The impact drove the air from his lungs in a painful burst, but the crumpling of the dry wall absorbed the worst of the blow, and he managed to land on his feet, staggering a bit, but upright.

Skive nodded. "Right then, lets get to it. How about you pick the building this time?" He glanced over at the blazing inferno of the book store. "Perhaps somewhere a bit further away?"

Buck turned in place, stopped, then pointed to the tallest building around them. "We go up there an we see everything."

Mir grimaced, trying to drag air back in to his lungs. "What did you do with her!?"

The building in question turned out to be some kind of factory once they had bashed the door in to get inside. A mass of machinery wound about the interior, conveyors and lifts forming a continous line that climbed up and down through the various levels.

Mir

The daemoness didn't bother answering, but instead grabbed hold of the bed, and lifted it up. She drew back one hand, planted her feet, and fixed Mir with a murderous glare.

Mir scrabbled to his feet and glanced quickly around the room, locating his weapons and then glared at the demoness. "Where is she?" he snarled. "Or do I need to shoot you in the face again?"

Buck started walking towards the factory. "Yes, this will be good."

Mir

The daemoness let out a hiss, took a step, and hurled the bed at Mir. The make shift projectile caught him full in the chest before he could even begin to get out of the way, slamming him back into, and through, the wall. Luckily, while the cheap drywall gave way, the support beams did not, and the bed remained in the room even as Mir was blasted into the next. He skidded painfully across the short, bristly carpet before being brought to an abrupt halt by the new room's bed.

Skive glanced around, and sent his servo skull scouting. "We should hurry. That blaze will no doubt attract some attention, and it would be best to be prepared for whoever, or whatever, might show up." He waved to his servitor, and the pair stalked off to look for a way up.

Mir crashed against the bed and groaned as the impact rebounded through his body. He groaned as he drug himself up to his feet unsteadily. He put a hand on the cheap bed and breathed deeply, trying to get his body back under control.

Looking back at the hole he'd entered the room through Mir reached over and grabbed the lamp sitting on the table beside the bed. With a yank he snatched it up, pulling the plug from the wall. He knocked the top of it off and stalked towards the hole. "I said, 'What did you do with her, YOU BITCH!?'"

The daemoness eyed the lamp, quirking a sinister smile. "Your concern is misplaced. You should be worried about yourself." She grabbed up the bed, flipping it aside casually to leave a clear path through the hole in the wall. She waved a hand at Mir in a beckoning gesture, needle like claws extending from her finger tips.
