Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew). Not too often you see 71 year old giants. Also check out the cane.
Thanks, and that cane is swaggerific. :)

Sci-fi writers raid every Earth culture they can get their hands on for ideas. It's nothing new.

Wasn't making a statement. Just thought it was cool that there is or was a culture that really looked like that.

Here's another example: Nien Nunb (Lando's Sullustan co-pilot in RotJ) was one of the few - perhaps only - featured character who didn't speak English in the films. The language he spoke was in fact a West African language known to the Kenyan actor who played the part.

Every single human being, living or dead, is in this picture. Except for Michael Collins. :)

Technically I am not in there because I am neither dead nor alive in that picture.

Of course it doesn't include the various groups of people abducted by aliens throughout history, like the 47s and Gary 7's bunch. :)

Well.... Hard to be abducted when I won't even be born until 15 years later.

Why do we never see people abducted in like 2020 in Trek?

For that matter, why do Trek people never listen to music or watch movies or read books from 2020, or 2120? Does culture never again produce anything worthwhile after the year 2000?

We joke about that, but it occurs to me that Trek actually does deal with those times in episodes like Past Tense, Q's trial, and when referring to things like the Eugenics wars. Things seem to have stayed pretty bad even up to the times in First Contact.

Basically it sounds like between the 90s and contact with the Vulcans is a dark age humans during the series don't like to think about. Actually they don't even seem too fond of the 20th century, preferring much earlier writers and musicians.
