Yeah, weird how things work out huh?Mikey wrote:Wait... they found the further (stage III) cancer only because they had to go in to repair the previous surgery?
Well, sh*t - I've heard that everything happens for a reason, but wow. I certainly would have wished your Dad didn't have any cancer at all, but thank G-d it didn't just sit there undetected and untreated.

My bro-in-law had a nasty acoustic neuroma discovered when he went for a CT scan after a difficult oral surgery. His neurosurgeon later told him that well over half of all acoustic neuromas are found due to dentistry for completely unrelated issues.

Best wishes to him and you, Kendall. We're here for you.
Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Best wishes to your dad, hope all goes well and hope that it turns out ok. (don't know how it can really turn out ok, but better than horrible I guess)

I think a combination involving "alive" would be OK.
Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Ok, well I hope he comes out alive then, and hopefully with all the cancer gone, or at least in remission a good long time.

Shit. Here's hoping that this latest trouble will be solved as relatively easily as the last lot apparently was, and that the Cypriot drama (I assume he as there with the UN?) likewise turns turns out to be "just" a bad tour rather than worse.Cpl Kendall wrote:*sigh* So Dad's colon resection leaked and he was brought to emerg this week and had an emergency colostomy. It's supposed to be temporary (6-8 months) and then their going to reconnect his bum. Unfortunately they found stage three cancer in his bowels so he'll need chemo and he was shouting through his pain about some previously unknown (to us, though I suspected) s**t that went down in Cyprus on his tour.

My thoughts are with you too Kendall.

Yeah he was with the UN. It's a pretty crappy thing and explains why he detests the Turks but lots of folks go through traumatic events and don't get PTSd.Captain Seafort wrote:

So, Leia and I's friend is in town from Vegas. She's going to hang out with my mom and I for an hour or so, and then we're going to pick Leia up from work and have a barbecue weekend. This should be fun.
Sorry, this will be fun. Or else there will be punishment!

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
