Ok, today I realized just how much I hate this kid in my school. Has he ever done anything at me, no, but he's over all just an asshole.

I can't stand it.

Today he stared at me for half a period... It didn't really bother me except for creeping me out. I wanted to scream do you want to ask me out to him so bad, just to see his reaction and subsequent embarrassment. I now regret not doing it actually. I guess it was for the better though..

He's a junior, 11th grade, so I would say probably 16 or 17.

My parents found a pretty sweet deal at Lidl of all places. Its a prebuilt PC by Medion, with a 2.8Ghz Phenom II quad core, 4GB RAM (upgradable to 8GB), 2 Terabyte hardrives, and a ATI Radeon HD 5670 (I think) DirectX 11 Graphics card...GET IN THERE

That's awesome. Question. How much was it? and I know little about Radeon or AMD, I stick to NVidea and Intel... What can I say?

So how good does it handle graphics and what not? just wondering for any build projects I end up doing... Because my nerd moments never end...

it was £400, ($595) which is cheap for our standards. Like ridiculously cheap.

My family have never strayed away from ATI and AMD. We've always found they perform better than the Intel/NVidea equivalent, but thats just us.

Still setting the thing up, but I shall detail the performance once i know.

Cool, see, we've always been the other way for the same reason, GO figure, so I've never used ATI or AMD machines, however I've heard the newer ones have been much more reliable than older models

A random question, who thought it was a good idea to ever make a tri-core chip? It's just bound to be a bad idea.

As for the price...
I can barely find a usable machine for that price. Also, what OS is it operating on?

You gotta try things to see them flop.

The problem that a lot of AMD chips used to face was a problem with temperatures, in that if they ran too low it would hinder the performance. They needed a sort of optimum temperature. of course, gamers and those that worry about high temperatures installed super efficient fan systems, and even those Hydropowered cooling systems (I never got that, tube of water in the middle of an electronic box) and in the end it hindered performance. The Phenom architecture chipsets have eradicated that problem.

And the Radeon cards have always been some of the best graphics cards I have used.

You can often find some great bargins in Lidl.

Its official....my rebuilt home PC is completely FUBAR. All the crap I had saved on there is pretty much toast. I'm going to have to try and reinstall windows and see if that works. Otherwise, it may be time to get a new PC finally.

AMD's Tri-Cores are defective quad cores that have a core disabled. In some cases, they can even be unlocked to function as a working quad core.

Yeah, I guess, lol

And I guess I'll have to start checking out the Phenom architecture to see it's useability, as well as performance, personally I think the i series is much better than any AMD chip out there, but AMD will get it sometime.

Also Radeon I have used before, but only the really old ones, and no old card were decent, but yeah, I may start using AMD for the lower end machines I use, I say the lower end because they are generally cheaper than intel. So I'll be able to build up a decent one for almost 3/4 the price that I would pay with an intel chip.

So I just went out and destroyed an old fence piece that had been taken down.... It felt so good, I love breaking things..
