What's the latest in people's lives?
Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Only start to worry if the TV starts to yell back!
Funny story coming up.
About ten years ago, I'm hanging out with my brother in law at my sisters house watching football. He is also a TV yeller. Saturday afternoon, I went with him to the electronics store, where he bought a 60" big screen TV for about $3000. We wresteled it in the back of his pick up and set it all up for Sunday football. Sunday rolls around and as usual he's getting worked up and yelling at the TV. One ref made several questionable calls (this was before the coaches could challange) and the next thing you know my bro in law is standing at the TV, with his finger in the refs "face". When the ref announced the bulls**t penalty, my bro in law lost his temper and punched the ref in the face, HARD. Unfortunately for my bro in law, he forgot the ref wasn't really there, and he just put his fist threw the front of his BRAND NEW TV!!!
First I had to take him to the hospital to get his hand stitched up and then back to the store to buy another big screen. Rather expensive weekend, wouldn't you say?

oof. darn typos! The spellchecker won't underline that in red since "reversed" is a word!

Ouch. Too bad he didn't buy the protection plan, looks like the extra money would've paid off for once!Mark wrote:

"Reserved", presumably.

That's what I thought just wasn't sure.

The protection plan happened next Saturday, as a matter of fact! Well, sort of. I jokingly said he should put some kind of cover on the thing. He ordered some reinforced plastic or plexiglass that I helped him measure and cut down, so, before a game started, he could mount it on the TV with velcro strips we'd glued on.Johnny Starfleet wrote:Ouch. Finally a promotion. How have I only come up with 1200 posts in 14 months? I'm on here all the damn time.
Don't you hear my call, though you're many years away, don't you hear me calling you?
Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
believe me, being here all the time does not warrant a high number of posts, neccesarily. For example, I have been here about as long as you were, but apperently, we post less than we expect ourselves to post. however, my case isn't really characteristic, as i tend to behave more like a lurker, but considering your discrepancy between your post number, your date of joining and your amazement about it, i'd say you walk in the grey zone between lurker and frequent poster.

A male friend, or a female friend?
