Lots of class ships in that fleet. The Galaxy, the Nova and the Intrepid. Quite odd.

It would make sense that the test bed ships for each class would keep close to Sol. Thats where most of the design and construction is being done so thats where you want you test boats.

Fair enough.
Deep wrote:Why wouldn't they just uprate the ships under way? Most of the SF seemed to be able to upgrade themselves whenever they wanted to. Were there any upgrades done that we know of that couldn't be done by the crews?
Well, IIRC, the war-era GCS had a couple of extra phaser banks, armour and a superior shield system. I doubt they'd be able to do that without a spacedock.

I imagin there is a limit to what you can do with out drydock facilites.

That doesn't agree with what we see in Nemesis though - the battle occured out near the Neutral Zone, not in the heart of Federation space.

Most likely the writers were just lazy and couldnt think of names.

When I had to think of over a dozen ship names for the Daystrom Beta mission I opened MS Word and then mashed the keypad getting something like, hdfvds, then right click and see what spelling suggestion they gave me, I'd pick the first one that sounded fitting. Got some nice ship names doing that.

They weren't near Sol, they were near the Romulan Neutral Zone.

Maybe its just me but I like too pretend that Ent never happened and it was just a four year long bad dream... Like Bush jr's first term... :happydevil:

Agreed. I know it might be cheating but I don't consider that canon - I put it somewhere between speculation and backstage info. :worried:

I think it may be nicer to say that ENT doesn't count whatsover on the premise that the entire effort was made soley to fuel B&B's paint huffing habit

I disregard ENT whenever it conflicts with the other series. In this case, Qo'nos simply can't be 4LY from Earth, so I disregard that statement.
