A "science" ship with more firepower than the heavy warships of some of the Feds neghbours. And which was consistently used as a warship. And which was described as a "battleship" by her own crew on occassion. Don't start this "it isn't a warship" nonsense again Deep. It's an abyssmally designed warship, but it's a warship nonetheless.

Wrong. It was in "Contaigon", when the crew's personnal and historical knowledge was removed, but their proffessional knowledge was left completely intact. They promtly identified the E-D as a battleship.

True, but Worf promptly identified himself as Captain and Data promptly identified himself as a Bartender. (I wonder if Troi's observation about people acting out their hidden desires in such circumstances applies to those too as well?)

It was "Conundrum." But Seafort's point still stands - they had no recollection of the personal lives, so went by contextual cues to identify their own positions - Worf thought his sash meant cpataincy, e.g. But their professional knowledge - like how to operate, and intuitively, identify the role of - a starship was patently intact, and that collective professional knowledge identified the E-D as a battleship.

It should also be noted that the crew figured the ship was a battleship after they had looked at its schematics.

And after "learning" that they were at war. If they had just lost there memories, but a war was never mentioned, would they have come to the same conclusion?

Yes. They looked at the ship's specifications, armament, schematics and capabilities.

They also did that before they "discovered" that they were at war, so that had no influence on their attitude towards the ship.
