Ok some of you are going to cry after hearing this.
I saw it on the news.
In upstate New York, a 20 year old girl was arested and tried for have two library books overdue. So far, has had to pay $250 in court fees.
This is our tax dollars at work.

This is probably the pettyest of crimes, and they just had to use handcuffs.

That's supposed to be for the protection of the officers, people being arrested have a tendancy to react violently and you'd be surprised how much damage even a small individual can inflict. It's probably also department policy.stitch626 wrote:Don't know. I'll find out.
