Under which Captain would you rather serve?
Re: Under which Captain would you rather serve?
You know what? They were always one of mine to. I always thought that they made more interesting bad guys than the Klingons for some reason. So much we never learned about the Romulans. To bad. I would like to have seen more of the Tal'Shiar in action

The Klingons never struck me as interesting. They're just your typical ruthless warrier type crap. But romulans are interesting, so much we don't know about them.

There's a mysterious quality about the Romulans: you never quite know what's on their mind. The Klingons are much more predictable and obvious, on the other hand. Another interesting race is the Cardassians, for their practicality and having to make do with less, technologically and industrially, yet still being a power.

The Tholians always fasinated me as well for some reason. The fact that they are crystline is quite cool, and so damn methodical.

Every television series has their crap episodes. Look at Voyager and Threshold, for example. Or Enterprise and A Night In Sickbay.Blackstar the Chakat wrote:How the hell did this show ever survive?

It was not "common" when the episode aired. DS9 made it trite and boring.Blackstar the Chakat wrote:And the ever so common cliche of travelling to a mirror universe

The Klingons were certainly more straightforward generally, but the Space-Viking stupidity didn't start until TNG - in TOS they were perfectly capable of being as sneaky as the Romulans.Blackstar the Chakat wrote:The Klingons never struck me as interesting. See, Rochey/Seafort/Katefan expect me to have the exact same standard, plot is superior. I can appreciate a plot, but I am a man for eye candy. call me simple or something, i seriously dont give a crap. And what Katefan said about me missing the point, I watch star trek for one thing: enjoyment. not to look for meanings, not to look for deeper philosophy. Enjoyment. Now if your enjoyment is looking for that, then fine. But it is not for me.

I totally agree, I like star trek because its a fun show to watch with an interesting universe. While all that extra crap is interesting I dont really care that much about it.
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

I watch it because the TV is broke and only shows the Star Trek channel.....

I agree as well. If I wanted philosophy I'd take a class, not be bored to death by TOS and TNG.Teaos wrote:YES!!!I watch star trek for one thing: enjoyment. not to look for meanings, not to look for deeper philosophy. Enjoyment.

I guess its your prerogative to prefer to turn your brain off when you watch a show. That explains ENT. I prefer a bit of mental stimulation, but to each his own, I guess.
I had heard that about you.Reliant121 wrote:I am a man for eye candy.

Hey, did you expect anything less from us?
"You've all been selected for this mission because you each have a special skill. Professor Hawking, John Leslie, Phil Neville, the Wu-Tang Clan, Usher, the Sugar Puffs Monster and Daniel Day-Lewis! Welcome to Operation MindFuck!"
