And as I've already pointed out, there's already enough flat space on your average planet that you wouldn't need to worry about it until you're building a veritable Coruscant.
So yes, my reasons for why it's efficient has changed, but the basic concept of it being efficient has not. I'm sorry if you find this frustrating.
What's infuriating is your persistent habit of hopping around between arguments, coming out with more and more ludicrous suggestions to try and justify what's already been disproved. Unless you've got solid evidence that Genesis is capable of the detailed programming required to pull off this planet-flattening trick, then this whole argument that "it would be more efficient for x, y, z reasons" is irrelevent, so drop it.

It could be modified to instantly cover and contaminate EVERY organic life form with their nano probes, instead of re-forming the new matirx.

Which is what we saw them do to earth in First Contact, so it seems to be a standard operating procedure

Efficiency is hardly irrelevent. And we saw Genisis turn a nebula into a planet, and I'm no expert, but I'm betting that's a lot more difficult to do then flattening the terrain.

Blackstar, what part of "prove the planet's formation can be controled" do you have trouble understanding?
Show that the resulting planet can be made to look whatever way you want it to.

And, while you're at it show how I can lose two inches off of my waistline. I have pants I need to fit into.

*Pulls out a butcher knife*
I can help you with that.... :D

Blackstar, why would it matter? Why do you need a flat world? If you can now produce as many worlds as you want then it doesn't matter if a planet ends up flat. Its cheap enough to just build a new one. Worrying about the shape of the worlds in question becomes a waste of time.

it's the whole maximizing efficiency thing. And it was never said to be cheap or easy to build a genesis device. The more efficient your planets are the stronger the group using it becomes so that they can dominate the galaxy that much easier

You're just not good at war planning. Mts and hills have products in them that you don't often find in soft ground. Ore and minerals that would be needed in starship production. Stone for construction. Flat areas often face flooding or other damage from water. When building weapons you can't use the same weapon over and over. Same goes for planets, reasources are always going to be needed. Not just one kind but many kinds... If you limit yourself to specific types you face defeat because of poor future planning.

Leave the ruin of the galaxy stuff to me. 8)

Actually, that makes quite a bit more sense to me. However, there is still no evidence that Genesis can be made to do such a thing.

We heard about sensor readings that indicate that the entire populace was Borg, but nothing about the terrain.

Blackstar, you have yet to prove it is possible to do what you're suggesting.

Wait, something I'm saying actually makes sense to someone other then me?

I was actually referring to the city-planet comment made by Deepcrush, not the terrain specifically.

Could you wait until tonight, when I have access to the movies before bugging me with this again?
