Gamma Mission Prep
Re: Gamma Mission Prep
The splinter group is really using older tech? Or are we just guessing? Having not participated before, I'm not sure how much info is known ahead of time. Question: is Teaos the 'dungeon master' type dude?

Kinda. he set this whole thing up.
Re: Gamma Mission Prep
Guys, I have to ask this. I was just re-reading the mission profile, and I see that we have a Nova class science ship as part of our task force. Why? We are going into a likely hostile situation, that was deemed dangerous enough to warrent one of Starfleets most powerful Paladin class battlecruisers. What place will this little science ship fill that something with a little more survivability wouldn't be appropriate for? Will we be conducting planetary surveys or charting gasious anomalies or something???

We might be. Sensor recon may prove to be invaluable.Mark wrote:Guys, I have to ask this. Re: Gamma Mission Prep
Is there anything "special" about the Paladin? Will she have the standard 2 nacelle design, or 4? Will she have any kind of seperating ability like saucer sep, or multi-vector assault mode? Or have we even gotten that far yet?

IIRC, Teaos was on holidays for a while, which is why we never did that part of the ship 'till now.

Re: Gamma Mission Prep
Planets are great spots for bases of operation, while gaseous anomalies are great for hiding a base and/or fleet, like when the proper dominion hid a fleet in a nebula before the first fleet came through the wormhole. A Nova is designed for studying that kind of thing and would be optimized for scouting planets with unusual attributes that make it difficult for other ships to get a clear scan, or to chart a gaseous anomaly.Mikey wrote:We might be. Re: Gamma Mission Prep
Makes sense, but she'll need a constant "escort". Dangerous to let her fly off by herself. That would tie up another ship. Well, we have a pretty big task force

Re: Gamma Mission Prep
Wow. I somehow missed all of this.
I was voting for a stronger ship from the get-go: I came up with the most powerful torpedo config based on the constraints, and I voted massive on the size poll (wait, did I just say "massive" and "poll" in the same sentence? ), but I agree that we can't go over-the-top and still write a fun RP. I do want to write something other than the "stuff blows up, characters die" technique I used for the last one, though. I'm still warming up, here; I'd like to stretch my muscles a bit more.

Re: Gamma Mission Prep
I have posted the mission brief as it stands now. If you want your character changed or add a NPC post it in the sign in and I'll edit it latter.
I'm gonna post our home coming for Beta mission tonight, I'll let it run for another week if anyone else wants to make a post there before starting the new mission.
I'm going to add the final ship stats and other relivant information in the brief latter.
If you think there is any other information we should add post it here and I might add it.

What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Ok. Just so you know, in my last post I had the fleet back at the starbase, so you may want to postdate it or make it "concurrent'Teaos wrote:I

Just an idea.

Yeah I know. My post is going to kind of a memorial/award thing.

I would imagine that one of the cloaked Romulan cruisers or the Intrepid would be useful for that purpose. Maybe even one of the Vor'chas.Mark wrote:Makes sense, but she'll need a constant "escort".
