Re: Gamma mission sign in
Well...I've decided to be yet again highly unusual In race choice and I've gone with a Cardassian. Any issues? If so just tell m And i'll revise my choices.
Name: Darel Ge'haan, Male, 34
Rank: Ensign, Race: Cardassian
Mikey, is the operations station on board Daystrome still open? If so i'm writing this bio for it.
Born: Lakarian City, Cardassia Prime
Previous occupations: Cardassian Military, Obsidian order
Darel is a somewhat cheery character, similar in Many respects to the famous Elim Garak, Although no-where near as well connected. He had a short but adventurous career in the Obsidian ordr before he was discharged for medical Reasons. A cure for the medical problem has now been discovered and He is fit for duty. He entered starfleet just before the war started. He obviously suffered much scrutiny but he pulled through. His true helmsman ability came out when the Helmsman of the USS Glorious, One of the older Miranda class ships, was killed in a battle with a Galor class cruiser. He took the helm and managed to evade the Galor's phaser blasts long enough for a timely rescue by the IKV Hah'Kugh. Since then he has taken his career choice down the helmsman route. He was assigned as a standby On the Daystrome. When the unfortunate incident wth Blackstar occured, Of which he insists He has no position on, He took over as the full time helmsman.
Following the battle with the Neutronium Brotherhood, Darel transfered to the Operations station aboard the USS Daystrome. He has also undertaken several training missions in hand to hand combat, tactical squad based operations, and phaser weapon usage.
Psychological and other notes:
Darel has proven a Positive and friendly character, if a little manipulative in his words. His cheery personality has sometimes come across as a little too much but He is intelligent and is a valuable asset to the crew.
Note: he may have contacts in less than legal groups...inquiry possible.

So you've stayed on the Daystrom the whole time? Thats fine, you'll know it like the back of your hand, handy for a COO.
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Mehh. i had thought about transferring, but i thought that might help out with some of the general running of the ship. And it gives me the opportunity to endorse 'mad old man' position. I hope the replicators are up for a good conversation =D

Sorry, we aren't exactly a patient group sometimes.Teaos wrote:...ok, I would have prefered if this thread had waited until I got back before happeneing.
Well, what about a Commander captaining the Intrepid-class ship, which has I guess 'unofficially' been dubbed the Pegasus? Would that be an acceptable compromise? Also while considering this, you might want to consider that M'Real will probably be more of a secondary character and that no one else seemed to have any objections.Blackstar: I'm fine with you being promoted to Commander and being a senior officer but as I said I don't want anyone else to have a command. So you can pretty much keep he same bio but hold it when she reaches Commander and have her be one of the senior officers of the Intrepid ship.

Why would a commander be in charge of an Intrepid? We've seen that Intrepids are normaly commanded by a Captain. You'll have to take XO position.

Maybe there wasn't a captain ranked officer available. And we've seen Nebula-class ships normally commanded by captains but we've seen them commanded by Lt. Commanders anyway(The first USS Prometheus and the USS Sutherland).Rochey wrote:Why would a commander be in charge of an Intrepid? We've seen that Intrepids are normaly commanded by a Captain. And the problem with an XO position on the Intrepid-class ship is that Monroe called it first, which means either a)he'll have to take a different position or a different ship which could upset him or b)I'll have to be XO on a different ship and I personally feel that we might be stretching our characters out too far.

Re: Gamma mission sign in
Unlikely. First off, it's highly unusual to send a ship off without a captain. Secondly, someone among the crew would be promoted up to captain to fill in, even if only temporarily. Thirdly, it'd be unlikely to send a ship off on a combat mission with a full fleet without it having a captain.Maybe there wasn't a captain ranked officer available.
The Prometheus was on a science mission, not a fleet action, and the Sutherland had suffered heavy damage and had no commanding officer stationed on it before being forced to deploy. Since this operation would have been planned for a while, it'd be extremely unlikely to have a ship in that situation. And we've seen Nebula-class ships normally commanded by captains but we've seen them commanded by Lt. Commanders anyway(The first USS Prometheus and the USS Sutherland).
Or you can just take a different position altogether on the Intrepid. And the problem with an XO position on the Intrepid-class ship is that Monroe called it first, which means either a)he'll have to take a different position or a different ship which could upset him or b)I'll have to be XO on a different ship and I personally feel that we might be stretching our characters out too far.

Re: Gamma mission sign in
Right, after looking over Blackstar's revised character bio I have a few questions.
Precisely why is shi on the ship? What is a provisional ensign? How and why does shi have that rank? What's hir purpose on the ship and what's this "unique situation"?Hir official status is as a provisional ensign, a position shi's held for over four years, and is assigned as crew of the Shadow Fox. Although a civilian would never normally be assigned to a combat assignment a special exception was made due to hir unique situation. As the Shadow Fox is too big to fit in the Pegasus' main shuttlebay the Shadow Fox and Stardust have been assigned as mission specialists to the Daystrom and will be using the Fox's advanced sensor array, transporter, and combat systems in the upcoming mission.

I'll repeat myself, since you obviously missed the questions:

Hiding behind suspension of disbelief is not valid when you give no explaination for something.
And would you like to adress my other post at all?

Reliant - glad to have you stay aboard, and happy to have you at ops.
Blackstar - I guess I missed something. Are you saying that you are a civilian with a "provisional" rank? Nope. You want to play a civvie on a ship under Mikey's command, then you will be treated as such. 'Nuff said.

Well, more like shi's taken and passed several acadamy accepted classes but hasn't graduated yet, but hasn't actually been at the acadamy hirself. However shi has a 'provisional' rank to reflect hir status as 'captain' of the Shadow FoxMikey wrote:Blackstar - I guess I missed something.
