Well that's just outright discrimination.

No, it's self preservation. This is a group of individuals that are capable of reading the thoughts of anyone and at high levels being used as weapons.

From what it sounded like they either were forced to either join this B5's PSI corps thing, blind one of their senses, or go to jail. I'd say that's textbook discrimination.

Far more extreme than that, a freed Teep in the later seasons is compared to a nuclear bomb in usage.

I must correct myself though, I claimed this was not discrimination. It is but that assumes it is bad, discriminating against a group of people that can read your thoughts, ware you like a glove or destroy ships and stations is only prudent planning.

Now instead of screaming discrimination like chicken little, try looking into the backstory of what you argue against.

No it's not, disciminating against a group of people, some of which are walking nuclear weapons ensures the survuival of your species. As a matter of fact, their is a telepath war later on in the EU and a rogue movement which does exactly what Earth Gov feared.

I assume you mean figuratively, but that's only with the wrong people. Others who see in black and white can be some of the best people you'll ever meet. They can be annoying, as you probably already know, but they can be incredibly nice.

Let me spell something out for you. Those fools in Iraq that tortured prisoners and commited various warcrimes did it because they could only see one of two ways: "your either with us or against us", frankly it's infected your entire adminstration and I have very little time for it. When I was in the military it was almost always the guy that couldn't see the shades of grey that the world actually is that was going to screw something up.

Okay, understanding more about why you don't like just Black & White.

Well, I'd be pissed sure, but I wouldn't count it as cheating.

Well that's just outright discrimination.

And a lot of people in the show said just that. There were rogues who went on the run rather than join, there were people who actively fought against the psi corps. And the corps themselves, feeling hated and victimised, became very insular and cut off from the outside world. That was what made B5 so great; they recognised the problem telepaths would represent and showed people trying a solution, but they weren't at all afraid to point out the bad things that the solution led to, as well. There never was a good clear cut answer to the "telepath problem".

While the Psi-corps isn't exactly a pleasant sollution to the problem is is the only real possible sollution short of stripping every telepath of their powers. Imagine the chaos that would be caused if telepaths were free to do whatever they liked.
